The opportunity:
This is a delivery-oriented role with a strong focus on effective change management and good customer outcomes.
The role is accountable for the development, execution, and management of a pragmatic risk framework and culture across the following diverse areas of practice:
Product management
Pricing
Data engineering and analytics
Customer remediation
Brand and CSR
Project Delivery
This Enterprise Leadership role will require trusted-adviser relationships across all levels of the business.
The position reports to the Chief Product & Vitality Officer and has 1 /2 direct reports
About the role:
Some of the Responsibilities include:
Build and lead a strong cohesive team that is recognised and respected for its pragmatic business solutions.
Accountable for the implementation of fit-for-purpose risk and control frameworks, policies and standards across the portfolio.
Lead the portfolio to identify and assess all material risks (operational, insurance & strategic risks where relevant) and the prioritisation of remediation plans.
Lead the Risk in Change process, Product Operational Risk Assessments, and Product Insurance and Financial Risk Assessment (as applicable) for each change initiative.
Influence across the portfolio and lead the management of risk incidents and issues.
Provide timely and accurate risk reporting
Coordinate all internal audit reviews involving the portfolio
About you:
A tertiary qualification, or demonstrable equivalent industry experience in risk management or actuarial
Understanding of the theory and practice of life insurance and the broader financial services industry
Significant risk management experience at a senior level
Understanding of NZ’s Financial Advice regulatory requirements
Senior level risk management skills and up to date knowledge of industry risk issues.
Practical knowledge and technical understanding of actuarial, financial & modelling functions including related methodologies, models and reporting
Experience managing delivery risk.
Proven ability to motivate and create an engaged high performing team.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
