Job Description

SCHOOL OF CHINESE MEDICINE

Secretariat 

Reporting directly to the Dean of School of Chinese Medicine (SCM), the appointee is responsible for supervising the SCM Secretariat to provide a wide range of administrative services to ensure the smooth operation of the School. Major duties include i) preparing reports and submissions to the University; ii) providing secretarial services to major committees of SCM; iii) coordinating accreditation exercises; iv) overseeing the organisation of academic conferences and SCM events; v) overseeing SCM publicity and hospitality; vi) handling human resources and other administrative matters; vii) administering donations and projects; and viii) vetting agreements to be signed with external parties.

Applicants should possess a good honours degree with at least 10 years of administrative experience at managerial and supervisory levels, preferably in the tertiary education sector. The ideal candidate should have the following qualities: a) strong leadership and management skills; b) good reasoning, sound decision-making and effective problem-solving abilities; c) outstanding conceptual skills which contribute to efficient and effective coordination and advancement of SCM; d) excellent people skills and language skills including both written and spoken English and Chinese (Cantonese and Putonghua); and e) good knowledge of and experience in working with mainland organisations/individuals.

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend a written assessment.

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
