The AstraZeneca Nordic-Baltic (NOBA) Marketing Company employs around 450 people across 7 countries and has offices located in Tallinn, Riga, Vilnius, Södertälje, Copenhagen, Helsinki, and Oslo. By 2025 AstraZeneca NOBA aims to become a recognized leader in its core therapy areas and thus improve the lives of millions of people. This will be achieved by driving excellent launches, building close collaboration and partnerships with stakeholders in health care systems, and developing high performing teams.

We are now searching for a Health Economist placed in Lithuania.

The role

As Health Economist you are responsible for building health economic tools and models and conducting health economic studies necessary to support the AstraZeneca strategy for key medicines, or to support market access initiatives in local markets.

You will act as lead health economist for key medicines and are responsible for reimbursement work for key medicines.

In this role, you will also be involved in work regarding addressing, planning and executing AstraZeneca’s long-term strategic plans within pricing, reimbursement, policy making and health economics.

Accountabilities

  • Responsible for health economic content in internal strategic discussions in key therapeutic areas
  • Evidence review & synthesis: Review, condense and process existing health economic evidence for specific therapy areas
  • Value story development: Responsible for health economic considerations in therapy area value stories. Develop health economic analysis together with Market Access, Medical, Therapy Area Manager, Therapy Area Lead and other team members
  • Gap analysis: Perform gap analysis in the evidence plan with long-term considerations
  • Evidence generation: Initiate and conduct necessary research to generate scientific health economic evidence in order to secure future market access for AZ medicines
  • Publications: Responsible for dissemination of key results in scientific forums.
  • Reimbursement dossier development: Responsible for health economic content in reimbursement documentation
  • Develop and present business and pricing cases, budget impact models, including reports and different data analysis
  • Manages pricing databases and policies
  • Conduct and provide health economic studies/models and presentations to Lithuania and supports all Baltic markets in order to support communication with payers and other governmental stakeholders
  • Responsible for conducting internal training within health economics
  • Readiness to present HE fact base to buyers and other external key stakeholders
  • Personal responsibility for creating a culture of courageous leadership, creativity and collaboration
  • Assures tasks are of correct quality and in accordance with written procedures and current legal requirements and internal standards

In order to succeed in this role, you have

  • Academic degree (PhD, Msc, MD or equivalent, preferably in economics, health economics, HTA or life science)
  • Excellent skills in usage of spread sheet software (MS Excel) and/or similar tools for data analysis
  • Experience from the pharmaceutical industry or relevant industry/business
  • Experienced in the health care / reimbursement environment and authority landscape
  • Experience in creating Health Economic evaluations and support material for authorities
  • Experience in applied statistics

You must have excellent communication skills, good capabilities in writing advanced texts, and fluent in both written and spoken English. Previous experience from project management will be an asset as well as programming skills and experience from working with data bases.

The wage for this position is from Euro 3600 gross monthly.
