Siemens Digital Industries is an award-winning company, Our operations include marketing, sales, project management, system design and integration including digitalisation, software development and validation, hardware assembly, installation, commissioning, service, and support of automation solutions and products (either direct or via third party resellers), safety related solutions, analyser systems, dynamic weighing equipment and instrumentation for the measurement of level, pressure, temperature, and flow. This extends to the design and provision of customer training courses, system integration and procurement of machine tool spindle systems, solid state electronic inverters and precision machine tool spindles and systems and the repair and maintenance of machine tool spindles and Siemen’s servo motors. Digital Industries is based in various locations throughout the UK with the role mainly covering the Manchester, Handforth and Leeds sites with the role working out of the Manchester office. We are looking for people who want to make a difference and who have a keen interest in the field of Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) Management. The challenge This Apprentice programme lasts for 4 years. An apprentice EHS Manager will learn to be responsible for the business operates in a safe way, while being a respected and appreciated member of the Digital Industries community. You will work with our EHS Management Team and with teams on all sites to help ensure that our Zero Harm value is lived and embodied at all levels of the organization. This will involve understanding, improving and communicating our current Risk Mitigation Processes and looking at how new digital technology can continue to change how we keep our people safe. As a Responsible corporate citizen, we strongly believe in the importance of having a positive impact on our local community so will also work to ensure that we comply to statutory requirements in terms of our environmental management but also understand how we can further improve the impact we have on the local area of our sites. Be excited by the prospect of working for the Siemens Digital Industries Division, with our product portfolio and in our customers’ industries. Comfortable with the prospect of leading industry accreditation in ISO standards from both Health & Safety, Environmental Management and Quality Management. Minimum qualifications To qualify for this role you must have: 5 GCSES A – C including Maths. (3 A-Levels or BTEC level 3 Equivalent in relevant subjects) Throughout the apprenticeship you will work towards the following qualifications: Year 1 & 2 Your Level 3 Safety, Health & Environment Technician Apprenticeship. Level 3 Certificates: Nebosh Environmental Certificate Nebosh Health and Safety Certificate Nebosh Health and Safety Diploma (Level 6 Diploma). Year 3 Nebosh Health and Safety Diploma Year 4 Nebosh Environmental Diploma (Level 6 Diploma) What else do I need to know? Throughout the apprenticeship the role will be based mainly in Manchester, there will be the requirement of occasional travel to other UK Siemens locations and potentially outside the UK, the majority of which will be able to be managed around any other commitments you may have.
