The appointee will assist in the implementation of University safety policies: conduct risk assessment and management of various physical, chemical, biological and ergonomic hazards encountered in teaching, research and operational activities. Specific duties include, but are not limited to conducting safety inspections and exposure assessment, analyzing risk levels, prescribing hazards control measures, providing training, collecting occupational and environmental samples, performing instrumental analyses, managing and analyzing EHS data, responding to emergencies during office and non-office hours, etc. On-call duty outside normal office hours on a rotational basis may be required.

Applicants should have a relevant degree in the science or engineering disciplines plus relevant post-qualification experience. Preference will be given to candidates with post-graduate degrees in engineering or science.  Research experience is highly desirable. (Duration: 2 years, renewable)

Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits including annual leave, medical and dental benefits will be provided.  A gratuity will be payable upon successful completion of contract.
