We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Health and Safety Professional to join our team and be based in Sydney or Melbourne. Reporting directly to the Environment Health Safety Manager, this newly created role will primarily support the existing Healthineers EHS program across Australia and New Zealand with a strong focus on Electrical Safety. This position can be worked from either our Sydney or Melbourne office and will require a strong onsite presence, ensuring our stakeholders are supported and project risks are mitigated. The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate strong electrical safety knowledge and have experience, or willingness to broaden competency in addressing wider EHS topics such as Operational Risk Control, Injury & Incident Management, Projects & Installation Safety and Contractor Management. Your responsibilities: Lead and oversee the Electrical Safety Program to ensure all electrical works are carried out in a safe and compliant manner, including, electrical installations and service activities. Develop, monitor and review the implementation of controls and safety culture relating to our other existing operational risks, including on our major projects, which may include but are not limited to; radiation safety, magnet safety (MRI), biohazard, infectious disease, manual tasks, fatigue, hazardous substances, driving, cranes, contractors, forklifts, building works and electrical work. Provide support to all elements of the EHS Program and Safety Culture where required Manage and support the delivery of the internal electrical safety and lock out tag out training program, this includes offsite and onsite competency assessment of electrical workers involving travel across Australia and New Zealand. Coach our leaders, the Electrical Safety Committee and employees on all aspects of Electrical Safety to drive continuous improvement in culture, practices and standards Oversee the governance of individual and business electrical licenses. Prepare reports and safety alerts of incidents for review by the Management Team Develop, propose, and implement EHS processes and/or methods Facilitate internal EHS capability programs such as Electrical Safety, Risk management, Safety leadership and Project Management Safety Recommend and develop safe systems of work relating to service and installation activities Ensure our contractors and those responsible for managing contractors adhere to our policies, practices and legislative standards Conduct Audits (Internal on EHSMS processes and external on contractors) Responds and investigates to EHS incidents, issues and queries relating to Siemens Healthineers and our contractors to ensure the appropriate level of corrective and preventative action is implemented. Other duties as allocated by EHS Manager Your Qualifications and experience: • Minimum 5 years in experience in a Health and Safety advisory role • Knowledge and experience with Australian and New Zealand Electrical Safety Standards and Regulations • Relevant background qualifications and experience as a qualified electrician • Formal Qualifications in Occupational Health and Safety (Cert IV, Bachelor or Master’s Degree) • Ability to engage, train and work with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders • Results and quality orientation with a high attention to detail • Strong organisational, time management, problem-solving and interpersonal skills • Proactive approach to take initiate and identify opportunities for improvement You must be able to provide evidence of your eligibility to work in Australia.
