Job Description
Eaton’s Vehicle division is currently seeking a Heat Treat Operator - Blue Nights to join our team. This position is based at our Kings Mountain, NC facility. The primary function of this position is to set-up and operate blast cleaning machines and all auxiliary equipment as assigned in the manufacture of ; load and unload metal parts from heat treat furnaces; operate loading and pushing devices of furnaces so cycles can be completed; operate the load / unload car. In this function you will: Operate all blast cleaning equipment and all auxiliary equipment to clean heat-treated parts (gears and shafts). Assemble metal gears, shafts, washers, and all other parts to be heat treated on various types of fixtures on their specified cycle in accordance with computer "Load Plan". Maintain part and Heat Treat management system computer, all logs, Rockwell inspection tags and test pin load identification numbers Interpret blueprints to mask parts with no-carb paint Assist furnace technician and maintenance when needed Assists in maintaining an atmosphere of continuous improvement and team efforts for accomplishing department and plant goals Performs work in a manner that supports our Quality systems (e.g., IATF 16949) and Environmental system (e.g., ISO 14000). Qualifications Required (Basic) Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent from an accredited institution Must be legally authorized to work in the US without company sponsorship No relocation is available for this position. only candidates that currently reside within 50 miles of the Kings Mountain, NC facility will be considered Position Criteria: Utilize the following tools and equipment: P-8, T-P 9, T-P 1800. Draw furnaces, load and unload cars, loading carts, 1-A & 2-A multi table blast machines, dust collectors, paint centers, PC, all Rockwell hardness testers. No-carb paint, steel shot, metal test pins, wire metal spacers, tags, etchers, part prints, installation of bolts for single aux-shafts. Manually lift between 30,000 to 50,000 pounds of metal per shift, 30 to 50 lbs. at a time. Use Extreme caution while working around open flames, hot quench oil, hot acid and high speed Performs minor and preventative maintenance as required We provide benefits that are industry competitive and focused on employee well-being.
