Job Description
1.Be familiar with the CAIE Official Website. Understand the syllabi or course outlines of the Economics courses. Be knowledgeable of all the components of the courses at all levels in all programs, including but not limited to IGCSE, AS, A2. The Economics teacher takes assignment from the high school principal and work in consultation with the head for teaching and research. He or She serves under the supervision of the Principal and his management team;
2.Follow the CAIE course guidelines and recommendations in the relevant official syllabi, and use available resources in planning and setting the learning goals for each course in each semester and ensure teaching success and ensure that students achieve good IGCSE and AS/A2 economics exam results;
3.Follow the department schedule, teach, and assist in the assigned courses effectively. In class he/she will motivate, guide, and assist students in their entire learning experience, including welcoming them to the class, laying the rules and expectations for the class, organizing the class to learn all the information contained in the teaching material, using technology and effective pedagogical method to deliver the lessons and achieve the learning goals. Complete the courses on time and give students time to review and lead the review before each test or before the assignment/project due date;
4.Give students assignments, timely mark the assignments and provide feedback. Give exams, mark them, critique the results, and provide feedback to the students. Follow the International High School Calendar to submit lesson plans, and submit the weekly, monthly, midterm, and final grades of the courses to the teaching affairs. Keep students course record, including all the test and exam results;
5.Learn and understand the admission processes and requirement for the universities in the British Common Wealth countries and those in the United States and Canada, as well as those in Hong Kong, Japan, Korea and Singapore. Assist the guidance Counselor in the student university application process. Write recommendations for students when requested;
6.Care for students, manage the classroom, counsel students when they behave not in accordance with the student handbook rules. Discipline students when necessary to ensure learning and progressing. Report to the Principal on student issues and how he/she managed the student issues;
Requirements
1.Native English speaker;
2.Bachelor's degree or above (subject related majors preferred);
3.TESOL/TEFL/CELTA certification;
4.Clear criminal background check;
5.Two years of previous teaching experience in subject preferred;
6.Teaching certificate preferred;
Salary and Benefits
1.Base salary 20,000 to 28,000 RMB before tax per month based on experience and qualifications;
