Position Title:High School Humanities Teacher
Teaching Subject & Grade Levels
Subject: Cambridge IGCSE Global Perspectives (with potential for classes in Geography and
English) Grade Levels: Grade 9–12
Working Language: English
Start Date:
August 2026
Reporting Line
Reports to: Head of Humanities Group (Global Perspectives, Geography, Business and
Economics department head), High School Works closely with Global Perspectives and Geography subject leader Works closely with: Academic Team, University Guidance Team, and
Homeroom Teachers
Qualifications & Requirements
Essential Bachelor’s degree or above in a relevant field (e.g. Global Studies, International Relations, Social Sciences, Education, Humanities, etc.) Experience teaching international curricula (IGCSE, A Level, IB DP, MYP, or similar) Strong understanding of inquiry-based and project-based learning approaches Effective classroom management and strong communication skills Ability to work collaboratively in a multicultural environment Ability and drive to work towards goals set by the leadership team and personal goals set by
the candidate themselves. Preferred
Experience teaching Cambridge IGCSE Global Perspectives Teaching qualification (e.g. PGCE, QTS, or equivalent) Experience in curriculum development or interdisciplinary projects Prior experience in an international school setting
Key Responsibilities
1. Teaching & Curriculum Delivery
Deliver high-quality lessons aligned with the Cambridge IGCSE Global Perspectives syllabus Design and implement course outlines, unit plans, and lesson plans Foster students’ critical thinking, research skills, communication skills, and global awareness Use a variety of assessment strategies (formative and summative) and provide timely, constructive feedback
Guide students through research tasks, presentations, and collaborative projects Prepare and guide students through any relevant subject specific coursework
2. Student Support & Academic Guidance
Support students of varying abilities and learning needs Create an inclusive, respectful, and engaging classroom environment Work collaboratively with homeroom teachers and support student development
3. Professional Collaboration
Communicate effectively with Chinese and international colleagues Participate in department meetings, whole-school meetings, and professional development
activities Take part in in teacher feedback sessions and progress checks.
Communicate appropriately with parents regarding students’ academic progress
4. Professional Conduct & School Culture
Demonstrate alignment with the school’s mission and educational philosophy
Maintain high standards of professionalism and safeguarding awareness Contribute positively to school life and participate in relevant school activities
