Job Title: Psychology Counselor (High School)
Location: Songjiang District, Shanghai
School Type: K-12 Premium Bilingual School
Start Date: Autumn 2026
Position Overview:
We are seeking a qualified and compassionate Psychology Counselor to join our high school student support team. This role is central to promoting the psychological and emotional well-being of our student body. The ideal candidate will be a licensed clinician adept at providing direct counseling services, conducting psychological assessments, and developing proactive programs that foster a resilient and supportive school community.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide direct, short-term individual and group counseling services to high school students addressing a range of issues, including anxiety, stress, social dynamics, and emotional regulation.
Conduct psychological assessments and screenings to identify student needs and inform support strategies.
Develop and implement evidence-based workshops and classroom lessons on topics such as mental health awareness, mindfulness, and coping strategies.
Serve as a key resource for crisis intervention, risk assessment, and management.
Collaborate closely with the school counseling team, teachers, and administrators to create and monitor student support plans.
Maintain strict confidentiality and adhere to all professional ethical guidelines and school safeguarding policies.
Consult with parents and external mental health professionals to ensure a cohesive support network for students.
Qualifications and Requirements:
Bachelor’s or higher in Clinical Psychology, Counseling Psychology, or a closely related field.
Current and valid licensure or certification as a psychologist, therapist, or clinical counselor in your home country.
A minimum of 3 years of post-license experience providing psychological services to adolescents, preferably in a school setting.
Strong foundation in various therapeutic modalities and evidence-based intervention techniques.
Experience within an international school and/or with the IB Diploma Programme is highly advantageous.
Excellent interpersonal and cross-cultural communication skills.
Fluency in English is required.
