Job Description
Requirements:
This company would want all of their teachers not only to be passionate about their subject but also to be willing to contribute to the pastoral and co-curricular program within the school.

A full-time time teacher would be expected to teach no more than 60% of a timetable (22 out of 36 periods) spread over a 6 day cycle (this does not include weekends). Class sizes at IB range from c6-16 and at IGCSE from c12-24.

The school is fully committed to providing a range of professional development opportunities for all staff whether internally through our Professional Learning Centre or through external courses for which there is an exceptionally generous budget.

There is a very full co-curricular program of over 100 different activities which we ask all staff to contribute to a couple of times a week. Ideally this would be any activity that the teacher themselves is interested in.

The school is predominantly a boarding school although the vast majority of students leave school on Friday afternoon and return on Monday morning. We ask each teacher to do one evening duty a week which can be supervising students in the library or in their boarding houses.

Almost all staff are also tutors who would see a group of 8-10 students twice a week. Tutors are responsible for overseeing the welfare of students as well as their academic progress.

Stipend positions of responsibility: Heads of Department, Housemasters/mistresses and other management positions will have additional responsibilities, lower timetable requirements and receive stipends. Such modifications will be summarized in a supplemental document.

1. Bachelor's degree in related field required (advanced degree(s) preferred);
2. Valid teaching certification;
3. Expertise in and a passion for your subject and a genuine interest in working with teenagers;
