YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The primary responsibilities of this role, HTP/DNA Sequencing Lead, are to: 

• Lead and develop a team of R&D specialists and contractors responsible for designing and executing experiments to support product discovery and advancement across multiple R&D pipelines (Biotechnology, Small Molecules, Biologics, Regulatory, Product Supply, Breeding);
• Prioritize and manage projects in alignment with business needs and partner priorities to ensure objectives and deliverables are achieved in a timely manner, and in accordance with our key performance indicators;
• Set team vision and strategy for evaluating, scaling, and optimizing workflows (molecular biology, automation and IT components) to support diverse partner needs;
• Provide regular, written and oral presentations of results, conclusions, and recommendations to peer and management groups as well as partner organizations;
• Develop and maintain a highly engaged Quality culture while adhering to ISO standards, and staying compliant with stewardship requirements;
• Work with partners to create and maintain submission forecasts, and ensure appropriate capacity to meet partner needs;
• Own and track success of a functional area through metrics and analytics; use data analysis to enable effective troubleshooting and optimization of production workflows and automation.

Required Qualifications:

• Master’s degree or higher in genomics, molecular biology, genetics, or related field, plus three or more years of experience;
• Demonstrated people leadership capability;
• Strong background in DNA/RNA sequencing, gene expression, molecular biology, genomics, genetics, or related field;
• History of success working on and managing cross-functional, team based projects;
• History of success in establishing and maintaining effective relationships with a strong goal-based orientation;
• Strong written and oral communication skills;
• Excellent experimental design skills;
• Familiarity with automated liquid handlers and LIMS;
• Experience with ISO/Quality Management Systems;
• Experience defining and using key performance indicators to measure lab and workflow health.
