Alice Ho Miu Ling Nethersole Hospital (AHNH), which is a re-provision of the century old AHNH at Central, Hong Kong, was opened in January 1997 in Tai Po. AHNH is a hospital with 24-hour Accident and Emergency (A&E) service and provides specialty services in Psychiatry, Intensive Care, Diagnostic Radiology, Ear, Nose & Throat, Ophthalmology, Medicine, Orthopaedics & Traumatology, Paediatrics & Adolescent Medicine, Surgery and Pathology. As at 30 June 2020, AHNH had 538 in-patient beds, 67 day patient beds and 15 psychiatric day places with a total of 1,982 staff.
Tai Po Hospital (TPH) was opened in January 1998 and is located adjacent to AHNH. TPH provides a full spectrum of assessment, extended care and integrated rehabilitation services for elderly and the chronically-ill and for patients who need infirmary care. TPH also provides psychiatric inpatient and day patient services and supports the New Territories East Cluster (NTEC) in acute involuntary psychiatric admissions, having acute psychiatric patients admitted from A&E and psychiatric clinics in NTEC. The spinal cord injury (SCI) unit in TPH provides rehabilitation service to SCI patients of the New Territories. As at 30 June 2020, TPH had 401 convalescent/rehabilitation beds, 233 infirmary beds, 360 psychiatric beds, 50 geriatric day places and 30 psychiatric day places with a total of 1,085 staff.

Job
Successful candidate will report to the Cluster Chief Executive (New Territories East) and the Hospital Governing Committees of AHNH and TPH. He/she will be the overall manager of the two hospitals with the following key responsibilities:

1. Lead the management team, health care professionals and supporting staff in the respective hospitals to ensure their effective provision of quality patient-centred health care service.
2.Establish and implement strategic directions, operational objectives, plans and policies for the hospitals to maximize and further their potential.
3.Manage the daily operations of the hospitals and work closely with the community and other relevant key stakeholders to achieve the highest level of performance.
4.Manage the budgets and resources within the hospitals and be accountable for the results.
5.Contribute to the effective and efficient management of the Cluster by participating in relevant management groups.

Requirements
1. Tertiary education.
2.Considerable senior management experience in health care services.
3.Good knowledge of the operation of public hospitals preferably in Hong Kong.
4.Strong leadership qualities as well as excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
5.Analytical, innovative and committed to achieving strategic results.
6.Possession of medical/health care administration qualification a definite advantage whilst not mandatory.
7.Demonstrated success in leading a multi-disciplinary team.

Pay
This is a senior executive role and will be remunerated accordingly and commensurate with the skills, knowledge and experience of the successful applicant.

Remarks
1. May be required to work in another work location to meet service needs of the HA.
2.Appointment will be on contract terms for a period of 3 years. Up to 15% of total basic salary (after deducting the contribution of Mandatory Provident Fund by Hospital Authority) as end-of-contract gratuity may be offered upon completion of contract with satisfactory performance.
