Job Description

Pullman & Mercure King George Square is a large vibrant 438 room twin towered hotel which acts as a sanctuary for leisure and business travellers as well as a place to be with our external facing Venues. Located opposite King George Square, City Hall and ideally situated in the heart of Brisbane CBD the hotel has some of the largest conference spaces in Brisbane incorporating 2 ballrooms.

The hotel also features some amazing and extremely popular external facing venues including Goldfinch Restaurant and Street Café, Sixteen Antlers Rooftop Bar as well as internal facing KG Bar, Expresso Bar and our Executive Lounge. 

Reporting to the Portfolio General Manager for Capitaland Hotels, the role will oversee the overall operation of the hotel as well as champion guest and employee experience.

You will have full autonym, with the support Heads of Department, for driving engagement with guests, visitors, colleagues and the community 

  • Previous experience as Operations Manager or Hotel Manager
  • Be able to manage and inspire and all aspects of the hotel operations including Food and Beverage Venues, Conferencing and Room Operations.
  • Ability to manage and lead the property in the absence of the Portfolio General Manager
  • A passion for supporting team members in building a career within the hotel and wider Accor group
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with all key stakeholders inside the property and out
  • Proven ability to combine your great operational skills and team empowerment through your daily interactions
  • Be able to handle fast passed multiple layered environment with a cool calm exterior.
  • Drive exemplary and “real” experiences whilst creating loyalty and recognition for the Pullman and Mercure Brands
  • Be able to deliver on not only our brand standards, but also on our class leading external facing venue experiences for our visitors to the property
  • Maximise profitability in all areas to exceed property budgets with a balance on creating memorabile daily experiences
  • Understand the key metrics that impact Food and Beverage whilst continuing to the grow our business, using this knowledge to drive sustainable revenue opportunities, and motivate your team to do the same
  • Be able to be an inspirational personable and operational driven leader that truly wants to be a GM.
