What you will be doing:

Maintain a close relationship with all other departments to adhere to company policies and procedures; to assist in the implementation of short and long term objectives; to be knowledgeable of the daily operation of the Housekeeping Department.

  • Leads and coaches the Housekeeping team towards achieving exceptional levels of guest service and employee satisfaction results, through the application of all Corporate and property standards and policies
  • Assign all of the guest rooms to the room attendants through the Rex system
  • Monitoring Property Manager in assigning rooms, out of service/order rooms, room moves, occupancy changes
  • Creating and dispatching all Housekeeping requests utilizing both Royal Service Manager as well as Synergy
  • Constant monitoring of the Royal Service Manager program
  • Answer all calls according to brand standards
  • Ensure guest calls are handled immediately
  • Liaise and maintain a close relationship with all departments throughout the hotel
  • Consistently monitor the queue, discrepant, VIP rooms and other rooms of note for the day
  • Help to develop departmental policies and procedures by which the highest possible degree of cleanliness, maintenance and aesthetic value is achieved
  • Handling guest complaints and follows through on actions required
  • Forming a strong relationship with the Union and the departmental shop stewards
  • Ensuring accurate accident reporting by the Laundry leadership team
  • Adjust staffing based on changing occupancies and communicate with staff
  • Responding to emails addressed to the general housekeeping department
  • Read Pass on’s to take note of any special instructions for the day
  • Print arrival/traces reports 
  • Any other duties as assigned by management

Your experience and skills include:

  • Service focused personality is essential and previous leadership experience required
  • Hotel Management/Hospitality & Tourism degree or equivalent diploma is an asset
  • Knowledge of Property Management System (Opera PMS, HotSos/Rex or equivalent), Microsoft Office and Outlook 
  • Hours need to be flexible to accommodate to operational needsWill be required to work weekends and some evenings
  • A minimum of 1-2 Years of experience as a Housekeeping Supervisor or Royal Service Agent with proven results –Operational Excellence, Colleague Engagement and Financial

Physical Aspects of Position include but are not limited to the following: 

  • Constant standing and walking throughout shift
  • Frequent lifting, carrying, pushing and pulling up to 30 lbs
  • Frequent work above shoulder height is required
  • Frequent kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting
  • Frequent ascending or descending ladders, stairs and ramps
