Housekeeping Director

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (other duties may be assigned)

  • Leading, directing and managing all aspects of the Housekeeping operation, including accounting procedures, inventory control, budgeting and ordering.
  • Managing and developing team members, including recruiting, interviewing, training, supervising, scheduling, coaching and counseling, reviewing performance and professional development, recognizing and rewarding team members.
  • Providing hands-on leadership. Assisting housekeeping team members to complete daily responsibilities, providing constructive feedback, and inspecting work.
  • Maintaining cleanliness, service and product quality standards for guest rooms, public spaces, restrooms, offices and banquet / meeting / conference rooms.
  • Ensuring a safe work environment, including monitoring chemical usage, providing chemical and safety training and ensuring hazardous substances are properly labeled.

Work Experience

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Five years or more of related experience required.
  • Experience with OnQ Property Management System strongly preferred.

ABILITIES

  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including days, evenings, overnights, weekends and holidays to meet business needs.
  • Ability to cover any shift in the event of call-offs or other operational needs.
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to manage effectively and develop strong working relationships with 2-4 supervisors and up to 30 team members.
  • Ability to lift or exert force of up to 20 lbs.
  • Ability to be detail-oriented and visually inspect rooms for cleanliness and sanitation.
  • Ability to demonstrate proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
  • Ability to be highly visible and interact with guests for the majority of the shift.
