What you will be doing:
- Reporting to the Director, Housekeeping, the Housekeeping Training Manager is a leader within the Rooms Division, overseeing the effectiveness of luxury guest services, employee performance and development & service enhancements especially as it relates to recruitment, onboarding and training for the Housekeeping department. Understanding the vision of Hotel Vancouver to support the department in new levels of excellence in cleanliness and guest service and maximizing opportunity will be essential for success as our first class property rebuilds.
- Consistently offer professional, friendly and engaging service and inspire team to do the same.
- Lead & support the Housekeeping department in all aspects to ensure a smooth operation and the highest level of cleanliness & guest satisfaction focusing on our four pillars.
- Collaborates effectively with all leaders in the Rooms Division to ensure seamless operation.
- Proficient use of radios, Opera Property Management system, ALICE (Concierge Program), Royal Service Manager, REX.
- Seek feedback on cleanliness and guest satisfaction, resolve problems in meaningful ways to exceed expectations and drives continuous improvement through use of Voice of Guest platform.
- Drive Colleague Engagement through active leadership, meaningful action planning, inspiration and influence. Hold regular communication meetings and ensures timely and appropriate recognition for individuals and teams and participates in division & hotel wide recognition events.
- Mentor, coach & advise colleagues in personal & professional development.
- Communicate through pre-shift briefings, emails and departmental meetings all pertinent information for the respective shift and areas of operation.
- Ensure proper staffing and scheduling of all Housekeeping colleagues in accordance to productivity guidelines.
- Be the departmental champion for recruitment, onboarding and training of new colleagues.
- Strong focus on Loyalty & VIP arrivals to ensure cleanliness expectations are met or exceeded.
- Ensures delivery of all core brand service standards and drive innovative creation of LSOP’s based on current industry trends.
- Drives ECOSURE & LQA action planning and improvement plan implementation; ensuring a consistent delivery of luxury product and services
- Develop, implement and maintain new incentives to motivate employees.
- Role model the Service Essentials, Service Promises and Heartist Models.
- Promote a safe working environment by adhering to Health and Safety standards as defined by Fairmont Hotel Vancouver.
- Performs any and all other tasks which are assigned by the management team
Your experience and skills include:
- Extensive knowledge of Housekeeping operations, Brand Standards and Luxury Hotel Operations required.
- 1-2 years in a similar leadership capacity required
- Knowledge in Property Management Systems.
- Proficiency in Word and Excel.
- Superior leadership & coaching skills with a proven track record of developing and motivating career minded colleagues.
- Ability to analyze data and trends and create strategies for improvement, willing to take risks.
- Strong guest service orientation and training skills background required.
- Able to balance a variety of conflicting priorities while considering all aspects of the job i.e. Financial, Operational, Talent & Culture.
- Highly organized, results-oriented with the ability to be flexible and work well under pressure.
- Ability to work flexible schedules (including evenings, weekends and overnights)
- Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times.
