The mission of the Planning & Fulfillment function is to support profitable growth by ensuring the accurate tactical planning of our demand and our operations, optimizing inventory and resource management and the perfect fulfillment of customers’ orders. This mission is achieved by balancing and improving five metrics: customer on-time delivery, inventory, lead-time, forecast accuracy and resource optimization.

Lead the Planning & Fulfillment activities for the Hub Business Line. Drive initiatives to improve customer on time delivery, lead-time, inventory turns, forecast accuracy and resource utilization. Improve Inventory Management processes; develop, deploy and run Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) and short-term planning processes. Implement best practices and solutions for the Hub Business Line Planning & Fulfillment function, in line with the Global Business Line strategy. Build-up competencies of Planning & Fulfillment teams across the Hub.

Your responsibilities

  • Leading the monthly Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process for the Hub in order to align offering, demand, operations and financial plans. Collaborates with other units for the synchronization of the end-to-end value chain,
  • Running an operations planning process covering all critical resources (e.g. engineering, manufacturing, testing, materials) and ensuring synchronization with short-term production scheduling. Contributing to resource optimization and scheduling stability. Coaches and training local units in resource management and capacity planning best practices.
  • Running a short-term planning process, such as Sales & Operations Execution (S&OE), to connect plans with execution. Coordinates an appropriate response to unplanned events. supporting the profitable execution of customer orders, in coordination with relevant stakeholders.
  • Establishing and maintaining an inventory management process across the Hub for all aspects of inventory, including raw materials, WIP, finished goods and sales in excess of invoicing in line with Group/Division/Business Line instructions. Coaches and trains local units, drives projects to optimize inventory.
  • Leading cross-functional initiatives for optimizing customer on-time delivery, leading-time, inventory turns and forecast accuracy. Uses Lean / Six Sigma tools whenever applicable. Collaborates with other units in the end-to-end supply chain.
  • Providing local leadership supporting the implementation of planning systems and ERPs for the Hub. Coaches and trains local units to use the systems in the best way.
  • Ensuring (with support of Human Resources and Global Planning & Fulfillment) that the area of responsibility is properly organized, staffed, skilled and directed. Guiding, motivating and developing direct and indirect subordinates within HR policies, for the benefit of both ABB and the employee.

Your background

  • Must have a degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration or equivalent.
  • A proven track record in leading successful change initiatives across organizational boundaries.
  • Strong people management and leadership skills. Able to increase team’s engagement while deploying change programs
  • Demonstrated ability to improve on time delivery, lead time and inventory turns
  • Up-to-date functional expertise in the Planning & Fulfillment domains of Sales & Operations Planning, Sales & Operations Execution, Inventory Management, Operations Planning and Demand Planning, previous experience in application of Project Management and Lean / Six Sigma methodology.
  • Strong communication skills in English, consulting and facilitating skills, ability to work with different cultures in a matrix organization and customer focus and actions oriented with a systematic and structured approach.
