Oncology is a key therapeutic area for AbbVie, with a portfolio consisting of three marketed products — Imbruvica, Venclexta, and Empliciti — and a pipeline containing multiple promising new molecules that are being studied in nearly 200 clinical trials in 19 different types of cancer. AbbVie is expanding its oncology hub on the West Coast, with three sites in the San Francisco Bay Area (Redwood City, South San Francisco, and Sunnyvale) moving into a brand-new site in South San Francisco and focusing on the discovery and development of novel oncology therapies. More than 1,000 AbbVie scientists, clinicians, and product developers with strong entrepreneurial roots work across these three sites. They combine their expertise in immuno-oncology, stem cells, and cell-signaling with their knowledge of bispecific antibodies, antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs), and covalent-inhibitor technologies to discover and develop novel cancer treatments. This position is based at AbbVie’s new South San Francisco, CA location. Purpose: As a member of the Human Resources team, this position supports and enhances the effectiveness of the function by supporting the Head of Human Resources, Bay Area and the local HR team. This role supports a broad range of HR administrative responsibilities within a dynamic and fast-paced business environment. Responsibilities: Represents Head of Human Resources to internal and external business contacts. Manages complex calendaring and scheduling needs and coordinates all logistics for travel, including itinerary preparation and management of expense reports (using Concur). Active contributor to HR Functional projects as defined; coordinates logistics and calendars for department events, supports efforts related to HR processes and programs including scheduling meetings, arranging plans for informational events. Acts as a liaison, solution-oriented problem solver, and facilitator as the first contact for the HR Leadership team and others in the department. Works with other administrative professionals across the Company to enhance awareness and effectiveness of HR efforts and to facilitate effective planning and meeting scheduling. Prepares documents in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Produces information by transcribing, formatting, inputting, editing, retrieving, copying, and transmitting text, data, and graphics. Confidentially and within corporate compliance expectations, manages tasks related to employee data and reporting; secures and processes reports, updates, and queries in partnership with local and Corporate HR partners. Partners with Purchasing and other Department/Finance partners as needed to track expenses, process billing requests. Completes required training and stays current on financial systems and processes including purchasing, budget management. Qualifications Minimum 3+ years related experience, High School diploma or equivalent. Intermediate to advanced knowledge of MS Office, Outlook, Adobe Acrobat, and related technology. Self-starter able to function at a high level with general instruction. Relationship builder, team-oriented and collaborative Builds strong relationships with colleagues and cross-functional partners outside of assigned group. Able to maintain confidentiality and compliance with established guidelines and policies. Learns quickly, adjusts course where necessary Asks questions, open to suggestions for improvement.
