Job Title: Human Resources Business Partner

Report to: HR Business Partner – APAC

Business Unit: DSM Food Specialty China

Location: Shanghai

The Challenge:
  • The incumbent should understand business and cultural dynamics in this organization (both locally and globally) and keep good awareness on it. A high level of sensitivity is required. Meanwhile the incumbent should keep her knowledge and experience up-to-date to support continuing business and organizational growth.
  • This position is focal point for all HR activities for different functions/teams. It requires good planning and organizing capability. The professionalism and capacity of the incumbent will keep being challenged.
  • The incumbent needs to be sharp and effective in leveraging resource from DFS global HR and Regional COE and GHOS in order to advise as business partner on relevant business/operation decisions.
  • The incumbent requires high sensitivity of organization and personnel changes, strong cross-culture experience to handle the internal key stakeholders

The Position:

  • Develop a HR Year Plan which contributes to the realization of the business year plan for DFS. The HR Year Plan is based on the Business Strategy and Business People Strategy and contains the structure, leadership, culture and talent management elements that are critical for the aimed business results. Next it contains a deployment plan, which includes a change management approach and metrics.
  • Partners with management on initiatives to develop and enhance high performance and an inclusive and collaborative culture of the internal organization from an HR perspective. Key elements are develop department capabilities, embed continuous (process) improvements and develop client group culture based on One DSM Culture Agenda.
  • Partners with management in the execution of strategic workforce planning, taking into consideration items like macro and market developments, business plans, formation, location, cost, productivity and capability levels of staff.
  • Partners with management to develop initiatives for enhancing workforce effectiveness and coaching line management on people management responsibilities. Key elements are founded on delivering business strategy, Leadership Model and One DSM Culture Agenda. They contain People Management development initiatives, Team development initiatives and individual coaching and feedback.
  • Partner with management to apply appropriate change management practices to the initiation, design and management of organizational change programs. Key elements are support with vision and business case for change, impact analysis, organizational integration and embedding, transition to new ways of working and benefits realization.
  • Facilitates, supports and advices on the execution of strategic HR processes and policies that have a line management responsibility (liaising with the CoE where applicable). Safe guards the human touch. Key processes are Performance Management, Career Management, Talent Management, Talent Acquisition, Learning & Development and Reward & Recognition. Provides management information, insights and recommendations to management based on workforce analytics, KPIs and external data.

The Ideal:

  • Bachelor’s degree, majored in human resource, public relationship, psychology, business management or equivalent is preferred
  • Minimum 5 years’ HR experience in multi-national company
  • 3 Years’ HRBP experience is preferred
  • Strong business acumen and Organizational awareness are must
  • Solid experience/knowledge on Change Management
  • Basic understanding of different HR modules such as total rewards, talent development, talent acquisition, organization development is needed
  • Professional coaching skills would be preferred
  • Cross-Culture experience is preferred
  • Fluent in both spoken and written English
