Function
Reporting to the Director of Human resources, the successful incumbent will be required to administer and maintain employee related information, perform HR related duties as required, whilst maintaining the quality and standards of the Westin Cape Town Hotel in accordance with Marriott International Policies and Procedures within a pressurized environment.
Required Experience & Qualifications
Matric
Human Resources / Hospitality Qualification advantageous
Minimum of 6 months’ practical exposure within a human resources environment
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Professional Disposition
Knowledgeable of Human Resources practices and principles
Strong planning and organizing and administrative skills
Deadline driven
Ability to work within a pressurized environment
Ability to use Initiative and be proactive
Ability to work without supervision and within a team
Attention to detail pertaining to area of responsibility
Working knowledge in MS Office applications e.g. Word, Excel, Outlook
Key Responsibilities
Provide a support function for the Human Resources Department
Assist with administrative related functions/tasks as operationally required
Handle sensitive issues with employees and with tact, respect, diplomacy and confidentiality
Coordinate activities relating to employee wellbeing
Assist with Human Resources related projects
Coordinate all on-boarding activities for new hires
Assist with employee file audits
Follow company and department policies and procedures
Facilitate uniform ordering process
Maintain positive and productive working relationships with other employees and departments
Partner with and assist others to promote an environment of teamwork and achieve commons goals
Create and maintain filing systems.
Order and track Human Resources office supplies and forms
Respond to questions, requests, and concerns from employees regarding Human Resources programs, policies and guidelines.
Maintain confidentiality and security of employee and property records, files, and information.
Ensure accurate maintenance of all employee records and files (e.g., interview documents
Ensure adherence to quality expectations and standards.
Perform other reasonable job duties as requested.
