Location: Aimargues (30 minutes from Montpellier)

Contract: Permanent contract

Job Purpose

In a fast growing environment, the HR Director is a key enabler in reaching our objective to feed more pets and feed them better. Reporting to the GM and as a member of the Leadership team, the job holder provides strategic leadership in shaping the unit’s objectives and driving business success in alignment with the Mars Five Principles. The successful candidate will lead our organizational transformation and partner with the teams to upskill our capabilities, develop our talent and enhance our culture.   

 

What will be your key responsibilities?

Business Leadership

  • Partner with the General Manager to establish short and long term goals to drive business success, provide leadership to the business while maintaining strategic alignment of the people agenda with the business strategy, and ensuring associate advocacy

Talent & Organizational Health

  • Gain alignment on the people agenda and developing talent while driving associate engagement; understand the ‘pulse’ of the business in order to strengthen the health of the organization and ensure “fit for purpose” organization design with the right people in the right roles

Unit Effectiveness

  • Drive efficiency across the HR operating model by: facilitating the adoption of Mars signature
  • programs, offering strategic guidance to unit specific projects, providing HR support directly, interfacing with the business unit and corporate teams, and communicating emerging business needs to CoEs

Enabling Operations

  • Guide, support, and position Line Managers to most effectively and efficiently support Mars associates

 

What are we looking for?

  • Educated to a minimum degree level or equivalent
  • Significant progressive HR experience
  • Line Management experience
  • Excellent skills in influencing, shaping and driving dialogue by building “buy in” – must have the presence and stature to influence and establish credibility with senior level stakeholder to gain support and achieve strategic business goals
  • Advanced consulting skills and ability to influence decisions to a positive business outcome
  • Comprehensive experience in development and implementation of strategic initiatives through to execution while acting as an Associate champion and change agent
  • Strong understanding of HR strategies/policies/legal/ethic/compliance policies and practices, and ability to provide guidance in solving business needs
  • Ability to effectively manage and work within ambiguity and prioritize on business needs and resource
  • Experience leading significant organizational change initiatives
  • Strong communicator, articulate and to the point whilst also able to inspire large groups behind a compelling vision
  • Able to work with diverse teams in diverse locations, engaging their input and commitment to success
  • Strong project management/organization skills, combined with the ability to handle many tasks simultaneously working under pressure and delivering within tight deadlines
  • Sound experience, good judgment and poise in a crisis situation
  • Fluent in French and English
