Job Description

Eaton’s Hydraulics division is currently seeking an Assistant HR Generalist. This position is based at our Van Wert OH facility.

Position Overview:

The Assistant HR Generalist is responsible for performing a variety of generalist and administrative duties within the Human Resources function.  The role will be the first point of contact to employees and visitors.  Position will focus on supporting hiring, onboarding and off boarding.  Additionally, the role will lead communication and engagement initiatives. The position will indirectly support the plant manager with key administrative actions to support the facility and operations.

In this function you will:

  • Primary interface with EDC (Sedgwick) in regards to managing all STD, LTD, and FMLA active cases. Serves as liaison for employees in understanding the process; provides all necessary information to Sedgwick in a timely manner, makes payroll and other work-related adjustments as necessary; communicates restrictions and accommodations and raises issues that may arise from suspended or denied claims. Works closely with supervisors to explain process and provide updates on absences.
  • Leads in scheduling numerous meetings throughout the facility including small group meetings; employee roundtables; training classes; etc.
  • Maintains a variety of data such as: HRMS, vacation schedules, Being Up Fronts/FYI’s, supervisor listings, etc. Updates records where necessary.
  • Provides staffing support including scheduling of interviews, assisting in background check and drug screen process when further verification with employee is needed, and conducting interviews for hourly positions.
  • Maintains department files and supplies; orders materials as needed.
  • Maintains facility bulletin boards for effective employee communication, including monitoring for legal compliance and providing updates to policies and practices as they change.
  • Communicates and informs employees of applicable policies and policy changes.
  • Address general employee inquiries regarding multiple facets of their employment including minor employee relations concerns, wages, benefits, training, etc.
  • Assists in administrative projects as assigned.

Eaton has announced it has reached an agreement to sell its Hydraulics Business to Danfoss A/S. This transaction is expected to be completed by the end of Q2 in 2021 and this position is expected to remain with the Hydraulics Business and would transfer to Danfoss A/S. upon close.  The compensation and benefits that will initially be offered for this position are based on Eaton’s plans, programs and practices.  If you are offered and accept this position and are actively employed by the Hydraulics Business when the transaction closes, Danfoss A/S will provide further details to employees concerning compensation and benefits at that time.

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution
  • Minimum three (3) years of experience in human resources
  • Minimum two (2) years of experience supporting hiring and onboarding in a human resources or talent acquisition capacity
  • This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. ‘Green Card Holder’), Political Asylee, or Refugee
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States both now and in the future without company sponsorship
