Job Description

Qualifications:

  • Excellent command of written, comprehension, spoken and oral English

  • Ability to manage a comprehensive HR database, including preparing reports for the Superintendent

The successful candidate will be capable of managing the following duties and competencies:

  • Reports directly to the Superintendent, BC Program on all HR issues within Maple Leaf Educational Schools.
  • Able to maintain confidentially on all matters pertaining to personal information regarding any employee of MLES. A breach of confidentially could result in dismissal.
  • Able to develop, maintain and prepare reports on a variety of HR issues as requested by the Superintendent.
  • Can prepare correspondence, requisitions and other financial instruments as required by the Superintendent and the Finance Office.
  • Able to communicate with BC administrators and teachers on personnel policy and procedures, as well as personnel related issues.
  • Will work with the BC Superintendent and the Dalian Head Office staff with various events that highlight MLES.
  • Will act as the corporate secretary for the BC Superintendent.
  • Able to direct and/or perform a variety of administrative and executive secretarial functions for the BC Superintendent, and other members of the MLES senior management.
  • Will prepare committee meeting agendas, minutes and related correspondence.
  • Can maintain personnel files for all BC certified staff, including protecting the security of confidential documents and archiving personnel files on behalf of the BC Superintendent
  • Attend meetings as required.
  • Able to field and redirect inquiries to the BC Superintendent as required.
  • Can maintain effective liaison with Principals and VPs, Senior MLES Management and other staff
  • Must provide information, assistance and direction with the BC Ministry of Education, prepared documents and addresses inquiries and complaints not requiring the attention of the BC Superintendent.
  • Will act as a liaison with the Head of Teacher Recruitment as well as the staff at MLENA.
  • Must maintain a good working relationship with the HO Director of Admissions and the Chairman’s Executive Assistant.
  • Other duties as assigned by the BC Superintendent from time to time.

The hours of work begin at 8:00 am and extend to 5:00 pm daily for five days a week. One hour is allocated for lunch.

An annual salary in the amount of 120 thousand will be paid over a 12-month period. Generous benefits are provided by MLES.
