Job Description

Oversees and facilitates the training and coaching of team members to be effective managers of the human resource within their areas of responsibility. Provides the resource that can assists them in HR management. Manages the Human Resources data for the hotel, and tracks the effectiveness of systems and programs. Advises Director of Human Resources on strategic issues related to human resources.

What will I be doing?

  • Supervises team members at the HR Office ensuring the department’s daily operation is running smoothly and team members discipline is adhered to.
  • Liaise with local government authorities regarding labor law, labor relations and arbitration cases.
  • Prepares procedure released concerning the labor contracts for team members.
  • Develops and maintains an team member relations program, include social and sports activities, service award programs, and employee counseling to increase team member’s satisfaction.
  • Takes charge of recruitment according to hotel business requirement and the manning situation.
  • Handle the check in/out for Level 8 and above team members.
  • Supervises and checks all records on sick leave, medical expenses, misconduct and Personnel Action Form.
  • Supervises and support the HR supervisor to manage the team member facility.
  • Maintain safety and cleanliness of work areas and team member areas, including, but not limited to, the team member restaurant and locker rooms.
  • Supervises and support HR supervisor to keep the fluent and right operation on B&C.
  • Ensures the security and confidentiality of the HR Department is strictly adhered to.
  • Initiate any new and improved system/procedure to be implemented in order to upgrade all personnel filing system and records.
  • Handle arbitration cases to protect hotel’s benefits.
  • Handle team member’s complaint and communicate with the other department.
  • Take charge of HR Audit to arrive the budget and to standardize HR’s operation.
  • Build HR P&P to increase the efficiency of HR.
  • Build environment of supporting the other department.
  • Manning analysis.
  • Ensures that team members maintain a high standard of personal appearance and hygiene and adhere to the hotel and department’s grooming standards.
  • Exit interview and Turnover analysis.
  • Market survey for HR related to adjust our strategy on time.
  • Foreigner’s work permit and visa application.
  • Discipline team members.
  • Ensures high standards of personal presentation and grooming.
  • Assumes the duty of the HR Director during her absence.
  • Adhere to the hotel’s security and emergency policies and procedures.
  • To ensure that all team members have a complete understanding of and adhere to the Hotel’s Team member Rules and Regulations.
  • The management reserves the right to change / extend this job description if necessary at any point of time during her / his employment.
  • Carries out any other reasonable duties and responsibilities as assigned.

What are we looking for?

Specific Job Knowledge, Skill and Ability:

  • Fluent in written and spoken English.
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Good relationship with the local labor bureau and government agencies.
  • Thorough knowledge of federal, state and local laws.
  • Thorough knowledge of salary, employment and benefits administration and payroll.
  • Must possess basic computational ability.
  • Ability to manage by example.
  • Ability to maintain excellent relations with associates and maintain team member and guest confidentiality at all times.
  • Good skills of organization and presentation.

Required Qualifications:

  • University graduate, excellent command of written and spoken in English and Chinese language.
  • Minimum 5 years related working experience in hotel industry.
  • Minimum 2 years of extensive human resources experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Possess initiative and willing to take on extra responsibilities when required.
  • Line operations management and labor related experience preferred.
