Intel has announced a major expansion of Intels production capacities in Europe and plans to develop two first-of-their-kind semiconductor fabs in Magdeburg, Germany, the capital of Saxony-Anhalt. Planning has started, with construction expected to begin in the first half of 2023 and production planned to come online in 2027, subject to European Commission State aid approval and funding approval by the German authorities.

The HR Manager will partner with our project teams as well as Fab executives and leadership to align our HR programs and processes to meet their business needs towards the start-up of the coming fabrication in Magdeburg. The manager will lead an account team comprising BHR partners and the matrixed HR COE functional teams in Germany. These teams provide HR solutions that deliver meaningful results for all business units residing in Magdeburg.
The successful candidate must have strong HR leadership skills with a proven track record in the manufacturing environment covering all relevant employee populations as well as business units including in-depth expertise with employee relations topics. Has also the ability to build highly capable teams, demonstrate deep fluency in HR and its centers of excellence, have very strong executive influencing skills, and demonstrate an ability to navigate through ambiguity and complexity in a fast paced and volatile environment, while demonstrating the motivation and will for a start-up environment.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage and lead an HR team in Magdeburg in order to provide proactive and effective solutions to employees, managers and leaders around HR and employee challenges.
- Design, implement Intels IDM HR 2.0 strategy for Magdeburg.
- Coordinate complex stakeholder relationships and implement systems that address demonstrated business needs.
- This role entails intensive planning and design efforts in various areas of this function, for this project and related projects.
- Builds a strong, inspired team through active coaching, development, collaboration and role modeling that will deliver results across Intel.
- Assess intangible variables to identify and evaluate fundamental issues, providing strategy and direction for major functional areas.
- Possess in depth knowledge of the functional area, business strategies, leadership development, talent management strategies, employee relations, works council engagement.
- Select, develop, and evaluate personnel and direct the activities of one or more functional areas, divisions, product groups, service areas or sub-teams.
- Implement effective and successful leadership of both globally aligned and distributed teams instead of driving individual contributor work.
- Create a culture of agility and innovation where ideas for growth are encouraged across boundaries for the good of Intel.
- Support the transformation of the Business HR organization into a strategic learning organization that aligns to LEAN principles, efficiency and upskilling across Business HR.
Qualifications
- Possess a Masters in Human Resources, Organization Development, MBA or related field.
- More than 10 years of experience of manufacturing industry experience, preferably in the semiconductor industry as well as experiences across various HR COEs and / or Business HR, including employee relations experience and engaging with employee representative bodies.
- The capability of operating in a fast-paced, highly demanding, challenging work environment with tremendous opportunities to impact Intel's technological competitive edge.
- Demonstrated business and strategic acumen: translates internal and external intelligence into insights that shape strategy and decision making, drives the organization to be ahead of the competition and influence innovative ways of doing business, drives transformational changes in our approach to business challenges, and continually assesses the external environment and the organizations readiness for change.
- Executive Presence, Organizational Leadership, and Relationship Management: Provides executive leadership and direction to HR teams, ability to manage matrixed relationships, drive strategy execution through influencing, and through exquisite stakeholder management.
- Ability to quickly build trust and credibility with executive leaders, and to influence actions and growth beyond their comfort zone, yet be able to challenge biz leaders and have difficult conversations constructively and boldly.
- Ability to represent Intel in external settings and role model culture to external stakeholders.
- Leads with integrity, honesty and is ethical, fair, and principled
- Assumes responsibility has high integrity, leads with an ethos of neutrality to act as a sounding board for HR Staff, Business leaders and able to pulse the culture and sentiment of the site
- Possesses written and verbal communication skills in English and German

Interim location of this role is Home Based Office until office premises will be available, ETA: Q4 2022
