Job Description
Position Requirements
Bachelor's degree or above in Business, International Business, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field. Candidates with an overseas academic background in Business are preferred.
Demonstrated experience teaching IBDP Business Management, with the ability to independently deliver the full Business Management curriculum.
Proven experience supervising Internal Assessments (IA) and Extended Essays (EE) in Business Management.
Excellent English communication skills, with the ability to teach entirely in English and independently prepare lesson plans, assessment reports, and other teaching-related documentation.
Strong commitment to the IB philosophy and learner-centred education, with excellent intercultural communication skills, professionalism, and a collaborative approach to teamwork.
Preferred Qualifications
IB Examiner experience.
Experience coaching students in business-related competitions with successful outcomes.
Experience in university and college counselling.
Key Responsibilities
Teaching and Learning
Deliver engaging, inquiry-based Business Management lessons for students in Grades 10–12 (SL & HL) in accordance with the IB Diploma Programme curriculum.
Develop unit plans, design inquiry-based learning experiences, and integrate authentic business case studies into classroom instruction.
Differentiate instruction to support students with varying learning needs, providing both intervention and enrichment where appropriate.
Design, administer, and analyse unit assessments and mock examinations, using assessment data to refine teaching strategies and improve student outcomes.
IB Assessment and Academic Supervision
Independently supervise students throughout the entire Business Management Internal Assessment (IA) process, including topic selection, research planning, report writing, feedback, and multiple rounds of revision.
Supervise Business Management Extended Essays (EE) and guide students in developing high-quality academic research.
Prepare students for IB examinations through structured examination practice, assessment criteria familiarisation, and effective examination strategies.
Uphold the highest standards of academic integrity throughout all assessment processes.
Curriculum Development and Department Collaboration
Participate actively in departmental curriculum planning, collaborative lesson planning, classroom observations, and school-based curriculum development.
Maintain and continuously update business case libraries, teaching resources, and examination materials.
Collaborate with Theory of Knowledge (TOK) and other subject areas to promote interdisciplinary learning.
Organise and support business competitions, company visits, entrepreneurship programmes, and other enrichment activities.
Student Support and Parent Communication
Serve as a student mentor, providing academic guidance, learning support, and pastoral care.
Work closely with homeroom teachers and parents to communicate students' academic progress, examination performance, and IA/EE milestones.
Foster a respectful, supportive, and professional learning environment while maintaining appropriate professional boundaries.
Professional and Administrative Responsibilities
Undertake routine school responsibilities, including examination invigilation, admissions interviews, Open Days, and school events.
Support IB programme evaluation and authorization processes by preparing curriculum documentation, assessment evidence, and other required records.
Participate in safeguarding, professional development, and other school-wide training programmes as required.
