Job Description
Our public school international division is actively seeking an IB English teacher to start in Sept. 2024:
•Applicants must be native speakers of English with an academic background or professional training in English literature or linguistics. Candidates with IB English A or English B teaching experience are preferred.
•Teachers are expected to work independently, creating their own lesson plans and familiarizing themselves with the international division's curricular requirements. Collaboration is also appreciated, and we aim to create an inclusive and exuberant community.
•The expected workload will be 15-20 classes per week with each class lasting for 45 minutes, plus 1-2 morning reading sessions per week, each lasting 30 mins.
•Applicants are expected to work across multiple grades and multiple curricula (IB and AP) and develop other general English courses like literature and English writing.
Our division values the growth of our teachers and all teachers are provided with the opportunity to attend IB, AP, and A Level workshops.
As an international division within a public school, we observe national holidays, which means there will be no Christmas or Thanksgiving break, and our summer break usually begins in mid-July. Thus there will be approximately 10 weeks of leave each year, fully paid (12 month contract).
Applicants are expected to attach their TESOL certificate as well as their related academic degree when submitting resumes.
