Requirements:
• A Master’s Degree preferred with specialization in education or related fields
• A minimum of 2 years experience in a leadership position within an international school setting;
• At least five years of relevant IB MYP leadership and teaching experience
• Experience with curriculum development and documentation within the IB MYP
• Knowledge of the IB PYP and IB DP and how the IB MYP accepts students from one programme and prepares them for the next programme;
• Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with school stakeholders
• Experience in implementing the principles and current trends in education, curriculum, IB MYP program, staff development, essential elements of instruction, and supervision
• Personal qualities associated with good human relations and interpersonal relations
• Possess qualities in shared decision making skills in order to be effective member of the Leadership Team
• Ability to lead staff toward instructional improvement and conduct training sessions
• Ability to prioritize, meet deadlines and work effectively under pressure. pay attention to detail, and meet deadlines
• Demonstrate a high level of commitment and professionalism

Duties and Responsibilities:
The MYP Coordinator reports to the Secondary School Principal. The MYP Coordinator is a crucial link between the school and the IBO. He or she is expected to maintain a thorough understanding of all aspects of the Middle Years Programme and actively endorse and promote the principles that underpin it. Additionally, the MYP Coordinator will be expected to provide positive leadership that builds and sustains a healthy MYP culture amongst all Secondary faculty

1. Curriculum Leadership
-Management of the MYP curriculum within the spirit of the school’s Mission and Vision statements
-Developing the curriculum in line with the IB MYP curriculum framework
-Ensuring the consistency and development of unit planners in each academic department;
-Establishing and maintaining a record of completed MYP planners;
-Ensuring a scope and sequence is in place and adhered to for the ATL’s across the grade levels;
-Ensuring an overall scope and sequence is in place for the global contexts across subject areas
-Providing leadership that builds and sustains a healthy MYP culture amongst all faculty;
-Providing a year-end report on the MYP Curriculum
-Developing interdisciplinary links through Grade levels and subject departments;
-Developing and coordinating assessment strategies
-Implementing a process of reporting regularly to parents on student academic and social development
-Providing all teachers in the school with an effective professional development program. This includes IB-recognized, regional PLOs, face-to-face, online, and in-school workshops
-Working with the PYP and DP Coordinators to ensure overall curriculum continuity with the PYP and DP in the school and between the programmes.
-Classroom teaching time for a maximum of 50% of a full-time teacher’s teaching load.
-Other responsibilities: The MYP Coordinator will be involved in the pastoral care support system. Involvement in the pastoral care system could involve but is not limited to attending SALT meetings, attending team meetings and being a homeroom teacher.

2. Strategic and Budgetary Planning
-Allocating teaching resources for department requirements & establishing priorities
-Planning textbooks and teaching aids budget for the MYP
-Allocating meeting time for collaborative planning within the timetables
-Planning budgets for special curricular events

3. Deployment and Development of Staff
-Contributes to interviewing for recruitment of new staff with Principal and HR
-Providing individual teacher support
-Assessing professional development needs, orientating and training new teachers
-Establishing professional relationships with all staff in the MYP and fostering their career development
-Performing lesson observations, checklists, and work reviews of staff
-Ensuring staff participation in workshops and IB networking sessions
-Planning regular in-house workshops for staff
-Regular communication with staff on internal teaching and learning matters 
-Promoting collaboration within staff
-Recommending subject leaders and organizing regular meetings to revisit the curriculum

4. Student Support and Recruitment
-Participating in marketing activities as required by the line manager or the admissions department.
-Supporting academically at-risk students through regular communication between home and school.
-Providing information to students and parents on the most appropriate pathways from Grade 5 into the MYP.
