Music Teacher Recruitment Requirements (IB MYP)

1. Education and Professional Background
Bachelor's degree or above in Music, Music Education, Music Performance, Composition, or related fields. A Master's degree and background from renowned overseas music institutions are preferred.

2. Professional Competence and Teaching Ability
Possess a solid foundation in music, covering music theory, ear training, music history, fundamentals of composition, and appreciation of various musical styles. Able to teach vocal music or at least one instrument (piano/guitar/strings/woodwinds/brass, etc.), with basic conducting skills.

Familiar with the IB MYP Arts (Music) framework. Able to design inquiry units integrating Global Contexts and Key Concepts, and proficient in the four MYP assessment criteria. Capable of independently developing MYP Unit Plans. Able to guide students in music composition, improvisation, ensemble performance, and music project inquiry.

3. Qualifications and Language Proficiency
Valid teaching certification required; IB official training certification (MYP Category 1/2/3) is preferred.

Native-level English proficiency, capable of delivering instruction entirely in English and composing all teaching documentation (Unit Plans, assessment reports, and course documents) in English.

4. Teaching Experience
A minimum of 3 years of music teaching experience, with 1+ year in an IB MYP school preferred. Experience in directing school orchestra, choir, musical theater, or organizing internal/external music performances and competitions is a plus. Experience in interdisciplinary teaching collaboration is also preferred.

5. Professionalism
Committed to the IB philosophy. Understands the developmental characteristics of students aged 11–16 and is able to design age-appropriate activities that inspire musical interest and creativity. Demonstrates responsibility, teamwork, and cross-cultural communication skills.
