Job Title: IB Diploma Programme (DP) Coordinator
Reporting Line: Head of School / Principal
Start Date: [August 2026 / ASAP]

Role Overview:
The IBDP Coordinator is responsible for the leadership, administration, and successful implementation of the IB Diploma Programme within the school. This role ensures academic integrity, regulatory compliance with the IB Organization (IBO), student well-being, and the continuous development of the programme. The Coordinator acts as the primary liaison between the school, teachers, students, parents, and the IBO.
Key Responsibilities
1. Programme Leadership & Administration
Oversee the day-to-day operations of the DP, ensuring alignment with IOB standards and practices.
Manage the master DP schedule, including allocation of time for TOK, CAS, and EE.
Coordinate internal and external examinations, including the registration of students, ordering materials, and managing invigilation.
Lead the process of curriculum review, textbook selection, and resource allocation for DP subjects.
Prepare and submit all required IBO documentation (e.g., curriculum changes, approval of self-taught languages).
2. Compliance & Quality Assurance (IBO Liaison)
Serve as the official school contact for the IBO.
Ensure compliance with all IB academic integrity policies (malpractice, academic honesty).
Organize and lead IB authorization visits, five-year review, and evaluation processes.
Manage the uploading of predicted grades, internal assessment (IA) marks, and sample moderation.
3. Student Support & Guidance (Academic & Pastoral)
Advise students and parents on subject selection, combination viability, and university entrance requirements.
Monitor student academic progress, analyzing data to identify at-risk students and implement intervention strategies.
Oversee the CAS programme (Creativity, Activity, Service) ensuring student engagement and reflection.
Coordinate the Extended Essay (EE) process: supervisor assignment, deadline setting, grading, and moderation.
Manage accommodations for students with learning support needs (accessible arrangements).
4. Teacher Development & Collaboration
Lead DP staff meetings, professional development workshops, and collaborative planning sessions.
Conduct classroom observations and curriculum audits to ensure consistency and rigor.
Mentor new DP teachers and support their completion of IB Category 1/2 training.
Facilitate vertical alignment between MYP (if applicable) and DP, or external curricula (IGCSE) into DP.
5. Strategic Development
Work with the Head of School to develop the long-term strategic plan for Grades 11-12.
Lead parental information sessions and community engagement regarding IB philosophy and assessment.
Oversee the university counseling function (either directly or via coordination with a dedicated counselor) regarding IB transcript submissions.
Person Specification: Qualifications & Experience
Essential:
Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related subject (Master’s preferred).
Valid teaching certification/license.
Minimum 5 years of teaching experience in an IB World School.
Minimum 2 years of experience in an IBDP Coordinator role or significant Assistant Coordinator role.
Deep understanding of IB assessment principles (internal assessment, external exams, moderation).
Experience with IB data management systems (e.g., IBIS).
Experience managing IB examination sessions (Paper 1, 2, 3 and orals).
Desirable:
IB Leader/Category 3 certification (Leadership).
Experience with ManageBac or similar IB school management software.
Experience with the CIS/WASC/NEASC accreditation process.
Experience teaching Theory of Knowledge (TOK).
