Job Description
Key Roles and Responsibilities
Planning and Delivering Lessons:
l Develop and implement a curriculum that meets the IB/Cambridge English A Language and Literature or
English B standards.
l Plans well-prepared written curriculum and engaging lessons in advance of teaching as per the Curriculum
Planning and Review Process.
l Effectively and appropriately uses digital tools and technology to improve student learning.
Assessment and Evaluation:
l Sets, marks, and provides feedback on work in line with the Assessment Policy.
l Maintain accurate and comprehensive records of student performance.
Student Support and Guidance:
l Differentiates in accordance with students’ needs and abilities, particularly with regards to ESL in accordance
with the Language Policy and Inclusive Education Policy.
l Plans appropriate intervention for students who require additional learning support.
l Understands the Academic Honesty policy and promotes a culture of integrity
Professional Development:
l Stay abreast of the latest developments and best practices in the field of IB English education, maintaining an
up-to-date knowledge base.
Communication and Collaboration:
l Collaborate with colleagues to contribute to the development and improvement of English curriculum.
l Participate in school meetings and contribute to the broader school community.

Requirements/Qualifications:
l A bachelor’s degree in English, or related field is required; a master’s degree or higher is preferred.
l Teachers are required to have at least 2-years-full-time-experience in teaching.
l A recognized teaching certification, with a specialization in English language and literature.
l Serves as an effective team member in a cross-cultural, bilingual school environment, being sensitive and
respectful to different perspectives.
l A deep understanding of the IB English curriculum and assessment requirements.
l Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
l A commitment to ongoing professional development and staying current with educational best practices.
l The ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment.
l The ability to communicate using some Mandarin is a plus.
Compensation & Benefits
l Base salary: Competitive
l Housing: Tax-free housing stipend provided with official invoice (“fapiao”)
