Position Title: IBDP Mathematics Teacher
Location: Suzhou, Jiangsu
Start Date: Fall 2026
School Type: Bilingual School (IGCSE & IBDP); students are of junior high and high school age.
Position Overview
The IBDP Mathematics Teacher is a key faculty member responsible for delivering high-quality, inquiry-based mathematics education within the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme. The teacher will inspire students to develop critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and a deep appreciation for mathematics, while fostering a supportive and challenging learning environment aligned with the school’s mission of uniting people, nations, and cultures for peace and a sustainable future.
Key Responsibilities
Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and rigorous lessons for IBDP Mathematics (Analysis and Approaches or Applications and Interpretation) in line with IB standards and philosophies.
Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of students in a bilingual, multicultural setting.
Assess student progress through formative and summative evaluations, providing timely and constructive feedback to support academic growth.
Collaborate with colleagues within the Mathematics Department and across disciplines to enhance curriculum integration and interdisciplinary learning.
Contribute to the development and refinement of mathematics curriculum materials, resources, and assessment practices.
Integrate technology and digital tools effectively to enhance teaching, learning, and mathematical exploration.
Mentor and support students in their academic and personal development, including through the school’s advisory or residential programs if applicable.
Participate in and support co-curricular activities, mathematics-related events, and school-wide initiatives.
Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with IB updates, educational research, and best practices in mathematics education.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Mathematics Education, or a related field; a Master’s degree or teaching certification is preferred.
Minimum of 2–3 years of experience teaching IBDP Mathematics, with a strong understanding of IB curriculum frameworks, assessment criteria, and approaches to teaching and learning.
Experience in bilingual or international school settings is highly desirable.
Excellent interpersonal and intercultural skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents.
Proficiency in using educational technology and digital tools to support mathematics instruction and student learning.
Flexibility, adaptability, and a commitment to working collaboratively in a dynamic, residential school community.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities effectively.
