Job Description
Siemens Government Technologies (SGT) is in search of a self-driven intern to complement our business development team for up to 3 months. The position will be within our Infrastructure and Energy Solutions (I&ES) organization primarily supporting Siemens Smart Infrastructure (SI). We are looking for a candidate with a diverse set of interests and flexibility to perform a number of different research, administrative and technical tasks to include market research, financial modeling, and technical solutioning and concepts for future projects. Responsibilities • Working with the engineering/project development team to elaborate on a tailored solution by analyzing customer’s technical assets and infrastructure. • Obtain competitor intelligence including their market approach, product/services, historical pricing patterns, strength/weakness, discriminators, customer relationship, and past performance. • Develop solutions with partners and internal stakeholders to meet customer needs and support the preparation of associated internal opportunity gate reviews. • Support the development and delivery of presentations, models, simulations, demonstrations, proof of concepts, proposals, and business and technology status reviews. • Support the development of campaign plans, account plans, and specific opportunity capture plans that shapes and supports annual corporate planning efforts of a customer’s direction, trends, and strategic opportunities. Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience • Pursing a BA, BS, or equivalent degree. • Excellent written and verbal communications with the ability to present complex issues to multi-level audiences of company and government executives. • Proven ability to juggle multiple projects at a time, while maintaining sharp attention to detail. • Ability to effectively communicate progress, status, and issues to internal and external customers. • Experience developing models and/or simulations, either financial or technical. • Employees of Siemens Government Technologies may be required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 in accordance with the workplace safety protocols for Federal contractors and subcontractors pursuant to Executive Order 14042 or state/local laws and regulations. Preferred Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience • Proficient in MS Office suite applications, Salesforce, and web or cloud based software applications such as SharePoint. • Some programming skills for developing models that may include: Excel, Visual Basic, C++, Python, and/or other languages • Experience with robotic process automation (RPA) and low code to include Mendix or UiPath • Basic know-how of financial business models with the ability to build and use and interpret such models • Interest and understanding of the Bitcoin network, proof of work, and mining • Understanding of the pros and cons of variable renewable energy and its affect on electrical grids • Interest in microgrids • Experience with US Federal Government projects, contracts, policies, and procedures. • Familiar with products related to building control, fire alarm, and electronic security. • Understanding of power distribution from the substation to building level and requirements for interconnection of generating assets. • Candidates with ability to work from remote location within the United States will be considered.
