Position: IGCSE/A Level History & Sociology Teacher

Key Responsibilities
1.Curriculum Design & Instruction
oPlan, develop, and deliver dynamic History and Sociology lessons aligned with Cambridge IGCSE and A Level syllabi, integrating innovative teaching methodologies to foster critical thinking and analytical skills.
oDesign learning activities that enhance students' reading, writing, oral communication, and listening proficiencies, tailored to diverse learning styles.
2.Classroom Environment
oCultivate an inclusive, stimulating classroom culture that encourages active student participation, intellectual curiosity, and a genuine passion for historical and sociological inquiry.
oImplement effective classroom management strategies to maintain a productive and respectful learning environment.
3.Student Assessment & Support
oDesign and administer regular assessments (homework , tests, essays, projects, and mock examinations) to monitor academic progress and ensure alignment with exam board requirements.
oProvide timely, constructive feedback to students, offering personalized guidance to help them achieve their full potential and build confidence in exam preparation.
4.Exam Preparation
oDevelop targeted revision programs and resources to prepare students for IGCSE and A Level examinations, focusing on exam technique, time management, and content mastery.
oStay updated on curriculum changes and assessment criteria from Cambridge International Examinations (CIE) or relevant exam boards.
5.Extracurricular Engagement
oOrganize and lead subject-related extracurricular activities, such as historical debates, sociology forums, research workshops, or cultural events, to deepen students' engagement with the disciplines.
oMentor student clubs or societies related to History and Sociology, fostering interdisciplinary connections and real-world applications of knowledge.
6.Collaboration & Professional Growth
oCollaborate with fellow educators to design cross-curricular initiatives, share best practices, and contribute to departmental curriculum development.
oParticipate in professional development opportunities to stay current with educational trends, pedagogical innovations, and global perspectives in History and Sociology education.
7.Reporting & Communication
oMaintain accurate records of student performance, attendance, and progress, adhering to school administrative requirements.
oCommunicate effectively with parents/guardians through reports, conferences, and updates, providing transparent insights into students' academic and social development.
Qualifications & Skills
Language Proficiency: Native English speaker
Educational Background:
oBachelor’s degree in history, Sociology or a related field (master’s degree preferred).
oTeaching certification or relevant teaching qualifications
Teaching Experience:
oMinimum 3 years of teaching History and/or Sociology at the IGCSE and A Level levels (preferred, though highly motivated newly qualified teachers may be considered).
oProven familiarity with Cambridge IGCSE and A Level curricula, assessment objectives, and examination standards.
Other Skills:
oStrong classroom management skills and the ability to create a positive learning environment.
oPassion for teaching, with the ability to inspire students.
oExcellent communication and interpersonal skills.
