Job Description

We are currently seeking an Instrumentation & Electrical Technician (Dual Ticket) for our HyCO facility in Edmonton (AB).

Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, the Instrumentation/Electrical Technician will utilize their solid working knowledge of electrical, instrumentation and control equipment in order to be responsible for the installation and maintenance of plant electrical, instrumentation, analytical, and control systems. This is a 24/7 operation and the incumbent must be willing to work overtime as required, and willing to take 24 hour on call responsibilities on a rotating basis. Other accountabilities such as reading blueprints and ability to perform preventative and corrective maintenance on control valves, field instrumentation, low and medium voltage switchgear components, process analyzers, and associated equipment is required. The incumbent must also be familiar with and be able to use multimeters, meggars, Hart communicator, pneumatic calibrators, and other diagnostic equipment.
 
 
JOB REQUIREMENTS 
 

  • Instrumentation and Electrical ticket required (dual ticket)
  • Experience with Siemens systems and any other distributed controls systems an asset
  • Familiar with PLC’s & PLC logic
  • Demonstrated commitment to EH&S with a track record of success on Safety, Environmental protection, Quality, Regulation compliance and employee involvement
  • Ability to effectively interface with support groups
  • A self-starter with proven leadership abilities and willingness to work alone at times
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Maintenance experience an asset
  • Strong troubleshooting and fault isolation skills
  • Team player attitude
  • Must maintain a clean driving record and maintain a valid Alberta motor vehicle operator’s license
  • Strong computer skills including, MS Office platform and knowledge of SAP
  • Some requirement to travel to our US operations for training or support
