Located in Vance, Alabama, the MBUSI facility is one of the most advanced automotive manufacturing facilities in the world, comprised of over 6 million square feet and currently employs over 3,800 Team Members. The MBUSI plant in Tuscaloosa is the traditional home of SUV production for the current GLE, GLE coupé, and GLS model series. Since June 2014, the plant has also produced the C-Class for the North American market. The plant in Alabama was the first major Mercedes-Benz production facility outside Germany and is regarded as the nucleus of the automotive industry in Alabama.

Essential Functions:
Position 1:
- Line Balance Planning using the ProPlan Top System, Material Zone Planning
- Conduct NLC workshops in all areas of the shop
- Prepare and present status reports to upper management
- Set up the offline area for the Maybach variant to prepare for SOP in January 2020
- Developing and implementing kitting, sequencing and pre-assembly cells
- Utilize Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma and MPS production System concepts in the project
- Implementing Poke-yoke, Pick to Light and Error Proofing solutions throughout the plant
- Demonstrate leadership through proactive problem solving managing projects and teams to increase productions efficiency
Position 2:
- Update Web Site as needed
- Support SP planners with rack design and station layouts
- Translate German documents as needed
- Create Stack Brief's for KSP Cells
- Support IE functions (Series and EPK)
- Preparation for the EVA launch Scenarios
- Create standardized documents for IPV's for EVA
Education:
Student in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering
Necessary Skills, Certifications, etc.:
Fluent in English (oral/written)
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
Experience in Project Management
Preferred experience in Catia, SAP/AMSupply
Preferred Start Date
Position 1: Beginning of February 2020
Position 2: Mid of February 2020
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in University or in a gap year between bachelor and master’s study
- At least (3) semesters of studies in relevant field of study
- Available for a minimum of 6 months
- Studies outside of the U.S.A.
