Located in Vance, Alabama, the MBUSI facility is one of the most advanced automotive manufacturing facilities in the world, comprised of over 6 million square feet and currently employs over 3,800 Team Members. The MBUSI plant in Tuscaloosa is the traditional home of SUV production for the current GLE, GLE coupé, and GLS model series. Since June 2014, the plant has also produced the C-Class for the North American market. The plant in Alabama was the first major Mercedes-Benz production facility outside Germany and is regarded as the nucleus of the automotive industry in Alabama.

Essential Functions

- Active support of buying projects for non-production material

- Creating price sheets/ cost breakdowns and comparison tools in Excel

- Creating Requests for Quotations and Purchase Orders in GLOBUS (Daimler IPS Buying System)

- Organizing of Supplier Days and negotiation of supplier quotes

- Maintaining the Supplier Database and Contract Management System

- Creating presentations in PowerPoint

Education
Student in Business Administration, HR Management, Supply Chain Management or other related area
      
Necessary Skills, Certifications, etc.
- Fluent in English (oral and written)

- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Project)

   
Preferred Skills

- Project management

- Advanced web development skills

   
Preferred Start Date (2 positions)
July/ August 2020


 
 Requirements
- Currently enrolled in University or in a gap year between bachelor and master’s study

- At least 3 semesters of studies in relevant field of study

- Available for a minimum of 6 months

- Studies outside of the U.S.A
