Located in Vance, Alabama, the MBUSI facility is one of the most advanced automotive manufacturing facilities in the world, comprised of over 6 million square feet and currently employs over 3,800 Team Members. The MBUSI plant in Tuscaloosa is the traditional home of SUV production for the current GLE, GLE coupé, and GLS model series. Since June 2014, the plant has also produced the C-Class for the North American market. The plant in Alabama was the first major Mercedes-Benz production facility outside Germany and is regarded as the nucleus of the automotive industry in Alabama.

Essential Functions: 
- Work within the team for press parts and die cast parts from the supplier

- Series: Work on engineering changes and part optimization requests of supplier parts and assemblies

- New type project: Work together with MBUSI Team Members and the supplier introducing new parts to the MBUSI body shop

- Keep KPI’s updated (Series production, Tool Maintenance, Run at rate, Material usage)

- Manage project related deliverables from initiation to closure with internal and external partners and record important project dates/milestones, project course and project status
- Prepare and support the creation of documents within the framework of project coordination

Qualifications:
 
Education:
 
Student in Mechanical Engineering
 
Necessary Skills, Certifications, etc.: 
- Fluent in English (oral/written)

- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)

- Fundamental knowledge in project management


 
Preferred Skills: 
- Basic Knowledge in steel part stamping and metal forming operations

- Communication skills in German


- Strong problem solving skills

- Team-oriented and self-driven

 
Preferred Start Date:

 
September 2020
 
Requirements: 
- Currently enrolled in University or in a gap year between Bachelor's and Master’s degree

- Studies outside of the U.S.A.


- A minimum of 3 semesters of studies in relevant field of study

- Available for a minimum of 6 months
