The MBUSI plant in Tuscaloosa is the traditional home of SUV production for the current GLE, GLE coupé, and GLS model series. Since June 2014, the plant has also produced the C-Class for the North American market. The plant in Alabama was the first major Mercedes-Benz production facility outside Germany and is regarded as the nucleus of the automotive industry in Alabama.

Essential Functions:
 
Body Shop Series Planning manages project related to product changes, process changes, and/or operational strategies.
 
In particular the primary focus will be will be implementation of Shop Floor Digitalization initiatives which support on time delivery of manufactured products with respect to quality, volume, and sequence targets.   This will require crossfunctional coordination with multiple departments Body/Paint/Assembly/Supply Chain/IT. 


In addition there will be tasks related to the following:


- Management/Coordination of project related deliverables from initiation to closure with internal as well as external partners
- Recording/Tracking of important project dates/milestones, project course and project status
- Preparation and support for the creation of documents within the framework of project coordination
- Organization/Preparation of meetings and workshops

Education:
Student in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering or other related area
 
Necessary Skills, Certifications, etc.:
- Fluent in English (oral/written)

- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
 

Preferred Skills:
- Fundamental knowledge in Project Management

- Team-oriented

- Intercultural interested

- Good verbal and organizational skills

- Structured and self-reliant

 
Preferred Start Date:
August 2020
 
Requirements:
- Currently enrolled in University or in a gap year between Bachelor’s and Master’s degree

- Studies outside of the U.S.A.

- A minimum of 3 semesters of studies in relevant field of study

- Available for a minimum of 6 months
