Located in Vance, Alabama, the MBUSI facility is one of the most advanced automotive manufacturing facilities in the world, comprised of over 6 million square feet and currently employs over 3,800 Team Members. The MBUSI plant in Tuscaloosa is the traditional home of SUV production for the current GLE, GLE coupé, and GLS model series. Since June 2014, the plant has also produced the C-Class for the North American market. The plant in Alabama was the first major Mercedes-Benz production facility outside Germany and is regarded as the nucleus of the automotive industry in Alabama.

Essential Functions:

Project:  Develop a QM Battery Project Management System to provide transparency to QM Management for Project Workpage(s) status. 


This project includes the following:
- Familiarize with the production processes in the Battery Plant

- Review Daimler standards related to product safety.

- Interact with the Battery Project Section Teams to develop an understanding of Project Team interactions.

- Work with QM Work Package Leads (CMM, SQO/PQE, QCC/GFP, Q-Planning, Torque) to ensure task closure according to Project Plan.


- Understand the components of product safety relative to Battery Production

Regular daily tasks/ assignments: 
- Daily meeting

- D evelop and manage the reporting activities for local and international Management Meetings

- Develop KPIs to prove Project task effectiveness.  Create and maintain the "big picture" overview.

- Give presentations to management

Student in: Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Electric Engineering, Business Administration, Operations Management, Computer Science

 



Necessary Skills, Certifications, etc.

- Fluent in English (oral/written)

- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) 




Preferred Skills:

- Strong analytical and problem solving skills

- Proven time management and project management skills

- Working knowledge of MS Office applications

- Ability to work in a team environment

- Ability to work autonomously and interact with a number of different departments independently


- Flexibility in Work timing

August 2020


 
Requirements

- Currently enrolled in University or in a gap year between bachelor and master’s study

- At least 3 semesters of studies in relevant field of study

- Available for a minimum of 6 months

- Studies outside of the U.S.A
