Position Summary: Provide manufacturing support for process improvement, which is highly complex in nature on processes to improve international wheel manufacturing operations at our China and South African Joint Ventures.

Essential Functions:

• Work with Joint Venture management in the construction and implementation of capacity expansion plans and implementation of latest foundry technology.
• Coordinate projects with Joint Venture plant personnel, outside suppliers, Facilities Engineering to assure execution in accordance with schedules and budgets.
• Evaluate and recommend raw materials, process methods, and procedures to improve steel wheel operations on worldwide basis.
• Provide technical leadership in the manufacturing and inspection processes and operations to increase overall efficiency.
• Solve defective problems by sound scientific principles and plant work. Prepare reports on progress of defective studies and capacity improvement projects at Joint Venture facilities.
• Recommend improvements for equipment reliability and work with Joint Venture management to implement recommendations.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree preferred with 7-10 years hands on experience in a foundry environment including in-depth knowledge of melting, casting principles and molding, knowledge of heat treatment, defect analysis, and product requirements. Knowledge of process control, inspection and testing methods desired.
• Strong analytical and technical skills; Problem solver with an innate ability to deal with ambiguity; Excellent computer skills
• Strong motivational and leadership qualities demonstrated in a product creation/manufacturing environment; Excellent interpersonal and communications skills
• Ability to work independently and take initiative
