We are looking for talented IP Coordinators at all levels of experience in European and foreign patent prosecution, to join our IP team in Cambridge. You will provide essential and specialised support relating to the filing, procurement and maintenance of patent applications and patents throughout all phases of domestic and international patent prosecution. This role contributes to AstraZeneca creating and preserving the value of our exciting portfolio of pharmaceutical and biologic assets. Main duties and responsibilities
The role offers a variety of work. You will assist attorneys and agents with the preparation and filing of multiple new patent applications, including EP, PCT and EP National Stage applications, and all prosecution-related documents within EPO and WIPO.
You will direct national stage filings with foreign counsel and submit all required formality documents. Key responsibilities include proactively monitoring docketed due dates and working closely with our docketing team to update docketing systems and maintain our records management system. You will also support the team on special projects and initiatives. The work will require daily interaction with patent attorneys, inventors and third parties.
Essential requirements
- Experience working with EP and foreign patent prosecution and formalities in private practice and/or an in house IP department
- Familiarity with EP and foreign patent docketing
- Self-motivated, with proven organisational skills and ability to manage multiple, high-priority tasks and deadlines, while using sound judgment and appropriate discretion
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to interact with a diverse and international team of attorneys, staff and inventors
- Proficiency with CMS/Online (EPO); proficiency in MS Word, Outlook, Adobe Acrobat and MS Excel
- Ability to provide simple and pragmatic solutions to complex issues
- Ability to work with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Ability to foster a positive and energised working environment
Desirable requirements
- An undergraduate degree and/or CIPA Patent Administration certificate
- Knowledge of CPA MemoTech
- Knowledge of Worksite document management system
