Eaton’s Corporate Sector is currently seeking a IP Legal Analyst to join our team. This position will be eligible for remote work opportunities. Position Overview: The IP Legal Analyst assists in managing Eaton’s patent portfolio. The legal analyst is an administrator of Eaton’s electronic IP database of patents, and provides related reports and analysis. This role provides assistance to the Innovation Special Practice Group in the protection of the Company’s intellectual property rights related to multi-national activities and processes. In this function you will: Administrator responsible for the entire Anaqua database, including creation of records, maintenance of records, issue resolution, user setup, supporting payment of annuities, docketing and reporting. Responsible for managing the outside counsel docketing process, providing support, auditing, and acting as a liaison between outside counsel and the Eaton attorneys. Responsible for training and communicating with outside counsel for matters related to both US and foreign filings, including questions around docketing, prosecution, using Anaqua and deadline reporting. Responsible for timely creation and distribution of docket reports and other reports, including metrics, as requested relating to invention disclosures, patent applications, and patents. Prepare and analyze reports supporting the foreign prosecution process. Responsible for updating country rules and other maintenance as required for the Anaqua database. Participate in Innovation SPG projects, leading process improvement initiatives, investigations, and other support items as required. Manage the E-Star inventor award process, including docketing patent awards, uploading patent award template to E-Star System, docketing paid date and troubleshooting inventor inquiries. Conduct extensive research in order to resolve Anaqua record discrepancies, including as part of ongoing project cleanup work. Communicate with IP global team members, operations, outside counsel and associates regarding the entire lifecycle on US and foreign patent applications. Identify, collaborate on, and develop digitally minded process improvements to promote the use of automation, streamline processes and eliminate inefficiencies. Create, organize, and maintain efficient, digital-focused workflow processes in terms of projects and assignments. Develop and update work instructions, process maps, and templates to reflect changes. Demonstrate a highly collaborative and team-focused approach. Qualifications Required (Basic) Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution At least 4 years of experience as a paralegal or legal analyst Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the future Preferred qualifications: Paralegal Certificate and/or extensive related work experience preferred. Experience with IP software, databases, reports and data analysis Solid computer skills including knowledge of Microsoft Office, with advanced skills in Excel, Power BI and PowerPoint Experience in intellectual property with advanced skills a plus Strong English language skills. Other languages a plus Position Criteria: Results-driven with the ability to take initiative, handle multiple tasks and shifting priorities Excellent analytical and problem solving skills with strong attention to detail Excellent verbal, written and organizational skills Eaton provides a competitive total rewards package commensurate with applicable skills, knowledge, and experience and consistent with internal and external market practices.
