Job Description
IP Litigation Manager – Beijing/Shanghai
Major Responsibilities:
Develop working relationships with AZ and external partners in support of AZ IP strategies and business
Proactively monitor, participate and contribute to IP policy development through multiple channels such as legal communities, KOLs, industrial associations, government bodies and academics
Proactively create, identify or leverage opportunities to promote, advocate and shape pharmaceutical innovation
Monitor and map competitive landscape; report and advise on implications for AZ products;
Manage and support key IP activities in China, including contributing to IP proceedings & prosecution
Advise on patent applications in or entering the National Phase in China
Direct outside counsel in litigation, prosecution and other legal services
Proactively provide critical IP perspectives on key decision-making bodies at AZ China
Provide IP support in transaction opportunities, evaluation of in-licensing opportunities, negotiation support, contract drafting during active transactions
Liaise with external and internal partners, including Global IP, and
Develop, manage, implement and provide training for AZ China’s IP policies and SOPs
Requirements:

Effective analytical, presentation and communication skills
Strong organization and time management skills with flexibility, creativity, resourcefulness to successfully prioritize and manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously.
Strong collaboration and partnership skills, including demonstrated ability work with lead cross-functional teams across different business areas and levels of the organization.
Strong critical thinking skills to identify, analyze, evaluate and resolve issues quickly.
Strong, demonstrated oral communication skills and ability to work with people of different backgrounds
Willingness to learn about different areas of the business and different legal and regulatory frameworks based on the needs of a particular project
Flexibility, creativity and the ability to cope with change in a fast-paced environment and evolving company
Demonstrated ability to work independently and exercise good judgment
Qualifications as attorney/patent bar-exam or equivalents
Experience in legislative development, public-interest advocacy
Strong oral communication skills in Chinese and English
