Eaton launched its first International Procurement Office (IPO) located in our global headquarters in Dublin, Ireland in July 2013. The IPO in Dublin has responsibilities for specific Indirect Material & Logistics categories. Services that the IPO carry out are: Negotiating Global Master Supply/Service Agreements with Global and Large Regional suppliers that cover general terms & condition and establish the relationship framework. These agreements deliver value by leveraging our scale, mitigating risk and saving the businesses time and effort in negotiating terms and conditions. Pricing / Rate Card Negotiation Category/commodity Strategy Development Strategic Sourcing Executive Supplier Relationship Management Centre of Excellence for Procurement including standardization and deployment of best practices across the organization The Eaton IPO internship provides an exciting opportunity to get exposure to various supply chain disciplines and to further develop your knowledge and skills in an engaging and inclusive environment. Role Description: You will be engaged as part of an international procurement team focusing on various projects within our Global Indirect & Logistics categories. As part of your role, you will be allocated to one of our category teams to get exposure to a wide range of activities ranging from Sourcing, Negotiation, Contracting & Data Analysis. You will be allocated a mentor within your primary category but we will also aim to give you a well-rounded exposure to all activities & categories within the Supply Chain function. Your mentor will make every effort to match you to areas & activities that match your career goals. Qualifications Desired skills, knowledge, interests and experience: A basic business background is required in addition to an interest and background in Supply Chain, Logistics, Purchasing & Materials Management and Data Analytics. Enthusiasm, a keen desire to learn, bias for action & good communication skills (both written & verbal) Ability to work on own initiative & as part of a team Strong collaborative skills, learning agility and ability to manage multiple activities to deadlines Support various SCM activities including but not limited to Request for Proposal (RFP’s) administration, data analysis, sourcing, contracting & negotiation Familiarity with principles of Supply Chain & Purchasing is a distinct advantage.
