The IS Application Engineer (Data) will be responsible for company data and reporting platform build, management and operation, including business analysis, design, development, messaging and evangelism. S/he is expected to become the domain expert and also a lead member to support related IT project delivery.

Your responsibilities

• Being responsible for writing code (Python, SQL, etc.), extracting data from various databases, cleansing, consolidating, visualizing data and creating datasets and demonstrating the data visualization.
• Developing and maintaining ad-hoc reporting & data analysis requests from the business teams as well as in monitoring the performance of the existing data & reporting platform.
• Understanding business problems, identifying data sources, doing data analysis and building reports.
• Designing, developing and maintaining reports using SQL, development and maintenance of database systems for extracting, cleansing, transforming, loading and maintaining data.
• Visualizing large and/or complex data making it more accessible, understandable and usable.
• Transforming, improving and integrating data depending on the business requirements.
• Delivering the data in a useful and appealing way to all stakeholders and identifying and prioritizing key issues or needs in the existing member experience, while bringing to bear savvy technical knowledge and product instincts for delivering local or global solutions.
• Communicating with business or stakeholders for keeping abreast of their needs and experience concerns and monitoring industry trends for finding opportunities and modifying strategies.
• Participating IT project or program as the delivery responsible, supporting external projects to business and customers and maintaining system documents, site and other assists.

Your background

• Must have a bachelor’s degree in computer science or related disciplines with 3+ years of software development experience required.
• Must have strong knowledge of SQL, database (Microsoft SQL Server), scripting languages (JavaScript, Python, R) etc.
• Knowledge on Microsoft Power BI, ECharts & Tableau is plus.
• Must have experience working in agile environment.
• Excellent ability to work under pressure, good analytical skills in spotting issues from data, demonstrating expert problem solving and analytical skills required.
• Ability and experience for designing, implementing enterprise infrastructure and platforms required for cloud computing (Azure, Alibaba cloud)
• Deep understanding of system development in cloud environments (Azure, Alibaba cloud), including Software as Service (SaaS), Platform as Service (PaaS), or Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), understanding across cloud and infrastructure components (server, storage, network, data, and applications), must have ability to translate business needs into solution architecture requirements, defining multiple solution options to business problems, having experience with Microsoft .NET Framework (& .NET Core) & C#, web-based technologies (JavaScript framework, HTML5, CSS).
• Good communication skill and being able to sell design/solution to end client and possess passion and ability to learn new technologies, excellent oral and written communication skills in English, and the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and disciplines.
