1. Manages the day-to-day operations by monitoring system performance, configuration, maintenance and repair. Ensures that records of system downtime and equipment inventory are properly maintained. Applies revisions to system firmware and software

2. Performs troubleshooting as required. As such, leads problem-solving efforts often involving outside vendors and other support personnel and/or organizations

3. Ensures high availability and acceptable levels of performance of mission critical host computer resources including enterprise Business Continuity/Disaster Recovery solutions.

4. Develops procedures, programs and documentation for backup and restoration of host operating systems and host- based applications. Installation and management of the host computer operating systems, disk arrays, fiber channel switches, firewalls, communication systems, storage, tape libraries and other components.

5. Develops, implements and monitors compliance with policies and procedures for information services and institutional objectives. Implements and or configures the same to protect the network, ensuring the integrity and confidentiality of sensitive data.

6. Develops tools, procedures, and training sessions for Operations, Client Support and Systems Development staff to assist with work.

7. Ability to lead a team on project engagements related to the design, configuration, and deployment of infrastructure solutions

8. Manages the data center and computer host systems including hardware, software and equipment such as air- conditioning system, UPS (uninterrupted power system) and fire protection system.

9. Facilities design, planning and implementation-determining data center tier requirements, recommending hosting solutions, assisting with site selection, performing capacity planning (e.g. floor space, power, cooling, rack footprint), and developing the structured cabling design.

10. Directs the evaluation and recommendation of hardware and operating software to meet specific as well as long term strategic end-user computing needs. Directs the acquisition of related software, hardware, products and services. Negotiates cost effective contracts and manages relationships with contractors and vendors.

Education and Experience

? Master’s degree in Management Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.

? 10 years of demonstrated, progressively responsible experience in the leadership and implementation of information technology.
