Summary
AZ Spain current Data Warehouse and reporting is based on Microsoft technology: Microsoft SQL and Power BI.
The IT BRM-Data &Reporting responsibility will cover the area of data management, data warehouse and reporting, and data delivery in time and manner to enable specific insights for better business decisions.
The role-holder will explore, as well, new technics of data analysis (advanced and predictive analytics), collaborating with different local and global teams (IT, business analysts, innovation teams, …)
The role will report to the Spain Head of IT, and will work with the different local stakeholders. It will also collaborate with different regional and global unit.
Job Responsibilities:
- Build strong relationships with stakeholder groups, developing a deep understanding of the short-term and long-term business direction
- Ensure all stakeholders are engaged and remain committed to their demand, and have complete and continuing awareness of the project plan, key milestones, progress to date and plans to completion, providing regular and accurate reports on progress, issues and plans to relevant stakeholders and escalating any issues to he Head of IT and other relevant involved people.
- Record and deliver stakeholder’s quality expectations of the project and the constituent deliverables, ensuring that realistic project and quality plans are prepared and maintained, and that stakeholders and team members all understand, are committed to and deliver to those expectations
- Assess and prioritize requirements in line with IT strategy
- Direct a team of data and reporting analysts focused on providing a high quality data service, with the established or new data services
- Develop and maintain performance metrics and proactively identify areas for improvement
- Defining effective ways of end-to-end delivery of our data and analytics platform, to enable specific insights for better business decisions.
- Ensure data availability, quality, and delivery. This includes also responsibility over the correspondent hardware and tools for data management, and its evolution, in collaboration with infrastructure responsible teams
- Maximize the use of technology, ensuring that data models, and data processing, are highly efficient
- Identify, assess and escalate risks to the success of the activity, raising awareness of risks in a timely manner to ensure cost-effective and prompt resolution of issues
Education, Qualifications and Experience
Essential
- Bachelor´s or Master’s Degree, in technical discipline (informatics, engineering, mathematics, economics…).
- Written and spoken English
- Strong digital literacy and technical capability
- Solid knowledge of data warehouse (Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle or other RDBMS additionally, and Cloud based DB as a service) and BI platforms (Power BI is a must),
- Recent and relevant experience of at-least 5 years of project management in DWh, with a track record of delivering to required standards
- Experience working with cloud techniques and tools (i.e.: AWS, Azure, Redshift, …)
- Experience ITSM and collaborative development tools such as ServiceNow and JIRA, and Microsoft Project Plan
- Strong requirement management skills, Excellent interpersonal skills and willingness to work within a team in a quickly evolving environment
- Capable of managing stakeholders’ expectations and be flexible also for proactive and reactive communication. Excellent Team Player, with experience in working with cross cultural teams
- Resilience – ability to overcome and motivate others in the face of a changing environment.
- Ability to proficiently communicate with team members and non-experts, both verbally and through documentation
- Proactive approach to problem solving
- Experience in team management for at least 2 years of médium-sized teams (minimun from 5 people onwards)
Desirable
- Agile methodology and practice.
- Experience of Microstrategy/Oracle, Python and R
- Experience of working with a range of Data & Analytics architectures: traditional warehousing, NoSQL,
- Good knowledge of the IT Infrastructure technologies and services and relevant experience of IT service delivery and team leadership
- Travel – willingness and ability to travel domestically & internationally
- Experience in the pharma and the life sciences sector
- Experience a senior project manager, developing applications/websites oriented to increase the digital footprint and/or to process automation/improvement, using methodologies as Six Sigma, or other lean based methodologies.
