Job Overview:
This position will allow the team member to gain insight to the workings of a business and the manufacturing process. You will get an exciting opportunity to support daily business activities in the IT department to provide the best possible IT support for the Business!
This internship will expose the team member to all levels in the organization to assist in building a resume that will allow the team member to become competitive in the job market.
Responsibilities:
Reporting to the IT Manager, the IT Intern provides the best possible support by assisting with all aspects of production and helping to ensure that the department runs smoothly. Main responsibilities will be supporting IT in the areas of:
· Budget planning and controlling
· Contract and supplier administration
· Procurement, invoicing and interfacing with the Finance department
· Other administrative duties as required
Qualifications:
- This position requires a minimum of a high school diploma. Working towards a 4 year degree or having graduated within the past 12 months with a degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Information Systems or equivalent.
- Applicants should be eager, driven, focused, hard-working individuals that are ready to assist a growing company with heavy production demands. He or she should be willing to learn and be taught skills from experienced members of the team. The individual should be self-motivated and interested in adding value and making a difference within an organization.

Mercedes-Benz Vans, LLC (“MBV”) is a plant in Ladson, South Carolina that produces Sprinter vans for the U.S. and Canadian market under the brands Mercedes-Benz and Freightliner. The midsize Mercedes-Benz Metris vans are also reassembled at this location.
Mercedes-Benz Vans, LLC invested 500 million U.S. dollars in the construction of a new Sprinter production plant in addition to an expansion of the previous assembly operations. In September 2018, MBV officially opened its new plant, located next to existing operations in the North Charleston area. The MBV facility will provide up to 1,300 jobs by the end of the decade and is expected to create at least 600 additional jobs in the region through its suppliers.
More than 130,000 Sprinters have been assembled in North Charleston and delivered to destinations in the U.S. since 2006. The U.S. is now the second largest market for Sprinter vans, after Germany.
